ah yes.... i also like the 40mm on full frame, perhaps I can just adapt my canon 40mm pancake with the A7, it is already a nice small size, but will be thicker with the EF to nex adaptor.

the other lens i am considering is the voigtlander 35 1.2 II vs the 35 1.4 MC. The 1.2 will give better bokeh and the 1.4 is really super small.

I love 40mm on FF so I will look at these 2 which are quite affordable.
Minolta M CLE 40f2 MC
Voightlander SL 40f2 - this is an SLR lens that can come in different mounts like, EF, Nikon F, etc.

I have Nikon ais 24/2, 28f2.8, 50f1.2, CV 58f1.4 SL (F mount), 105f2.5 plus Pentax K 135f2.5, M 200f4, Minolta MD 300f4.5, all SLR lenses. The Minolta MD 300f4.5 is only 710 gm.

voigtlander 35 1.2 II wide open is soft. and its Heavy~!

my setup when using NEX-7

hmmm.. i know it is heavy... but really soft wide open? was looking at Steve huff's review and seemed like V2 had its IQ tuned up quite nicely vs the V1? sounds like i should not be looking at voigtlander lenses based on steve's reviews haha... i bought a nokton 50mm 1.1 as well based on his review and a CSer also said good luck with that lens.

i have no camera body to test the lenes with yet haha

Steve Huff thinks everything is awesome. I haven't seen a critical review by him yet.

Has nothing to do with the softness I guess but that camera he tested it with has a very different sensor.

I would do that anyway, don't buy a lens if you can't test it on your body.

Really tempted.

Any idea if Sony has a mount adapter for Nikon F-Mount to FE-Mount that retain full function.
Also, What will be the equivalent for Nikon SB600 Flash for Sony, with wireless capability ?

Thanks

Was at Wisma tonight, still no demo set. :|

I would love to hear your thoughts on RF lenses on the A7/r. Especially UWA.

There's certainly a few more 40mm lenses... the C Summicron 40mm f2 in m mount, the Rollei 40mm f2.8 in ltm (its a sonnar!) and of course, the Pentax 43mm f1.9 in ltm mount! These are all compact and awesome lenses.

Indeed, soft wide open and rather heavy. Use it half a stop down and its quite a brilliant performer! I rarely bring it out but when I do and get it right, the results are awesome!

And closer MFD too :) with A7 good grip, it should balance well

Yeah. Bringing all my lenses. Lucky I still have d M to E mount and CY to E mount adapters. Hopefully they allow to test shot on d SD cards.
