just became perm staff? :)
Err, actually I had been employed for years now. If you noticed the previous word that I had replaced was internee, a pun intended.

Signing a bond for 8 years with SASCO was one of my worst mistake in life, while I love what I'm doing, I can't exactly say the same with whom I work for. :embrass:

oh... mistook internee as intern...

A couple of shots while I visited my parents at Jurong. All photos are at 100% resolution and the sharpness of those shot with the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS is all I can pull out of during post-processing as compared to the one shot with the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS.

#1 (Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS @ 250mm f/8)

016 on short final and inbound towards WSAT, RWY 36 and executing a missed approach.

Looking forward to seeing the G550-CAEW in the flash at the Singapore Airshow 2010, and BTW I have updated the guide for outdoor plane spotting locations at WSSS with a set of newer images from Google Earth along with some minor corrections, kindly please direct any "where is the photos taken?" inquires to the two postings, thank you.

I have also the initiative and opportunity to indicate landmarks on the satellite images that might interest aviation enthusiasts.
Feedbacks and suggestions are very much welcome. :)

hi 9v Orion images, great pictures! Thanks for sharing. Must have been quite a long wait to get those images. Anyway thought I'd point out that 624 f-16d block 52cj is assigned to 143 Sqn and not 140 as shown by the Phoenix logo and black and yellow checkered fin flash. I believe 140 sqn should be red and black. :). Please keep sharing.

Bro, what are the "surgical incision scars" and why are they there?

Its probably what is referred to in the US Navy as "spot priming" where paint along the panel lines are touched up when they are worn off due to normal wear and tear. This is to prevent corrosion in high salt/moisture environments. The difference in colour from the surrounding paint is due to either a) the surrounding paint has lightened/darkened due to sun exposure or become dirty or b) the correct colour wasn't on hand and another colour was used.

I've seen spot priming on RSAF F-5s and USN Hornets as well (the latter is unbelievably bad after a 6-month cruise)

Yes, you are right. I copied the text from a previous posting without correcting the changes. Most of the photos are taken by chance actually. :)

Mike Y, thanks for the clarification. :)

I hope so though I suspect any aerial display of the noiseless G550-CAEW will be extremely annoying to the spectators, as a side note, it will probably be another 20 years before civilians can even step foot in it though. ShiNn, I don't suppose you have any idea if there will be a four ship flypast during the decommissioning ceremony of the E-2C Hawkeye? Will love to capture the final moment.

Here's another 100% resolution and cropped photo of the G550-CAEW as requested by a forum member in a PM discussion. I'm not exactly well-versed in military aviation though I have attached a copy of the antenna locations of a standard Gulfstream G550 civilian business jet for referencing purposes.

Orion, I don't think the CAEW will be performing...at least from what I've seen/heard.

Thanks for the clarification, Mike. :)

For those of you that are in interested in the RSAF G550-CAEW, I had managed to dug out and gather couple of background information regarding the unit S/N: 016 which was formerly registered as N914GA (C/N. 5014).

Awesome photos!!!

The F-15SG's gun port is still new and shiny. :)

Amazing ! After flying in landscapes like that, must be tough for any RSAF pilot to come back to hazy, crowded Singapore airspace

What's the difference between 2 seater F-15 and single seater F-15? The pilot of the single seater is equal to 2 pilot from the double seater?

Thanks and regards,

Im not sure whether is there any fly past. but defintely if there is, there wont be 4 planes flying past. haha. Many of the antennas on top of the fuselage is for military radio use. e.g. UHF signals. the rest is all classified. cant say more. haha.

there are few systems which has already been removed from the original config. maybe u can find out more during the airshow. ask our frenly technicians there.
