Well,

from expo i suppose if you position urself near or at the round-about then i suppose 200mm would suffice. From T1 viewing gallery perhaps 300mm would be comfortable, but 250mm should be enough.

Cowz.

Hmmm,

杀死狗? Cisco? I'm guessing ...
Eh, harper, nrmlly where do yoo go to spot in changi?

Cowz.
i'll normally go to changi for civis... :)

Departures & Arrivals

Hmm,

I must note that when it comes to planespotting, we must be very mindful of our DOF. the lower F-number means small DOF which results in a smaller focusing area of the plane, would be nice to take at around 5.6 and above. Jus a lil note/advice.

Cowz.

I was told by one of the old hands from airliners.net that the ideal F-stop setting is between 8 to 12..

Mmm,

yea but when i shoots small planes like leer jets and sometimes 737s/320s at F-stop 8 the DOF is slight a lil too large. I nrmlly shoots small planes at 5.6-7+. But well, yes the avg range is btwn 8-12 agreed.

OT, harper any new pics?

Is the 1st helicopter a Fennec?
Negative, that's an AS350 Ecureuil.

You can differentiate between a AS350 Ecureuil and AS550 Fennec mainly by it's doors. An AS350 Ecureuil will have only one large door for both it's pilots (fwd. position) and passenger (aft. position), whereas a AS550 Fennec will have two separate doors for both the pilots and passengers.

Angle for the engine intake of the AS350 Ecureuil is "flatter" than than the AS550 Fennec and the AS550 Fennec also have additional separate "gills" just forward of the engine exhaust. Hope this answer your question. ;)

I'm also from "杀死狗" :bsmilie:
Just joined last year Aug as TLAE (CAMP7).
Which department are you from?
Just came back from Shanghai and saw you post, maybe we should meet up to talk ****, sing song over a cup of coffee. Mine treat.

I assumed you signed up for the 8 years bond? The 1st year of being a TLAE is also the honeymoon year, enjoy it while you can. As for me, mine time in SASCO is about to end, searching for better opportunities elsewhere. ;)

ya, it's 8 years bond.
I'm currently under course training at TTC Paya Lebar.
Hopefully we can meet up before you leave.

ah ok.Thanks. The only Fennecs I've seen are those in pictures haha. So the silhouette looked familiar. The only helicopters I see everyday are Apaches, Chinooks, Super Pumas and EC-120s.
