Official Plane Spotting Thread III

LX-VCD Cargolux

Wow... the 8... didn't know that the 8's purpose-built as Freighter versions would sport the old bubble akin to the original 747 as oppose to the bigger bubbles of the newer variants. Can't wait to see the passenger 8's. Thanks for sharing your shot. :)

Nice catch of the AFR A380 Montaya Tok. It arrive quite late I guess, around 6pm ?

Hmm...just a question..how you guys upload photos to here direct from flickr?

Hi Makinen85,

Yes, I was nearer to the runway.

Cheers!

Oh..then i was at the area behind the field..

You are welcome, I think it remain small cos it never meant to carry passenger though there are some seats catered for, how many I'm not too sure myself.
If too many pax the pilots may need to start serving drinks/meals Lol.

Closest we might see pax -8 if Lufthansa change their airbus 380/343 service to sg.

It arrived at 6.45, when it was almost too dark to get a shot

I think that the other side have limited views unless you head on or tail end shots...

Did the 300 & 400 series Freighters sport the smaller original bubble or did they use the larger bubble? I seem to think it was the larger one.

I took LH 778/9 on my business trip back in 1st half of this year. They were then announcing on board via the inflight magazine that the dash8 will be replacing the 380's. But till now, nothing yet. I am looking forward to riding in the new Boeing for sure. Still my favorite jet airliner so far. Can't wait to try the dreamliner too. :):)

to answer the question, I remember only the -400 pax is stretched
however there are also -400 freighters that are stretched, those are BCF converted freighter from the normal passenger, the appearance is quite same.
Only difference no nose cargo door but cant tell when in flight anyway.

you can see the difference from the BCF below

Also eager to try the dreamliner but will be next year …. hope they don't reduce the dreamliner frequency. Right now half the JAL dreamliner fleet is on SIN leg daily:o
