Greeting, fellow plane spotters. It has been an extremely hectic start of the year for yours truly. Will kindly post some photos as soon as I have the luxury of time to do so.

Meanwhile I'm just dropping by to wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year. Huat Ah! :D

hi 9V i was thinking of trying my hand on plane spotting this coming chinese new year weekend i need your advice would tanah merah ferry terminal be a good spot to start? would a 55-200mm suffice or do i need to rent a longer lens?

Heyz,
Though that question is not directed to me, if I answer, you won't mind right?
If you wanna take military aircraft, u go camp in front of PLAB can liao~
That's what I did, with a 17-50mm lens, the pics I posted earlier on are all with that lens~
But then they may come after you if they think you suspicious~

Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal (TMFT) and to be more specified, the length of coastal park connector between Changi Coast Walk and Tanah Merah Coast Road or otherwise you can proceed onto the breakwater towards the yellow buoy directly west of TMFT for a more optimal photography location, is only suitable in the morning for RWY 02C arrivals.

For the evening, plane spotters prefer to gather around Changi Business Park. ;)

Please, for the love of God, do not heed gkw12345's advice unless getting into trouble and having a cup of coffee locked up somewhere undisclosed is what you have in mind. :nono:

Furthermore being a public holiday, there shouldn't be any RSAF flights planned.
this pics was taken from a 17-50mm lens?
I believe Gilcrest utilise a Sigma 400mm f/5.6 telephoto lens for his shots and yes, a focal length of 55-200mm is more than enough for the two locations that I had previously mentioned. :)

thanks bro... just to be clear this time of year best place in the morning east coast park connector (tanah merah ferry terminal) and afternoon changi business park right?

will try to catch some planes this holiday and post them here by the way i live in cck i always hear airforce planes landing closeby any chance there is a place to camp where we could catch and take pics of those planes or that base restricted as well

Someone please capture Ed Force One when it comes!

If you shoot the RSAF planes far away from their airbases (e.g. Boon Lay) thre should not be much problem, but it really depends on luck whether is there any flight. But taking near the airbase area, like TAB, you are inviiting trouble.
