Good attempt even though the weather had been unfavourable for plane spotting activities these past few days.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks for the encouraging words. I believe the angles that I can take will be pretty restricted and similar as I am shooting from my room window =)

Maybe we should have a outing where all of us gather and shoot the planes during NDP rehearsal? I want to try but am a newbie ;)

Orion, 713 is a UTA, not an MPA.

There is an articles on Plane spotting in the Sunday Paper (13 June 10).

Interestingly....all other type of spotter have their faces shown in group photo excepts for Plane spotter. They remain faceless........

later get hunted down by MSD lol... plane spotters prefer anonymity :P

No wad... there's pic of a fellow plane spotter...

Those are some rather severe cases of lens flaring maybe its time you purchase a Canon EF 300mm or 400mm f/2.8 L IS USM instead?

Try for side/flank shots so that the lights don't shine directly into the lens. You can also clone out some of the flare. Currently, it's difficult to make out anything from those shots you've posted ..too dark and blurred.

In any case, dark background + dark subject + need for fast shutter speeds is a difficult combo. You'll need a really good high iso body and fast lens.
