erm, just curious where is this?

Its on a public main road next to a private carpark with the row of lights that caught my undivided attention near WSAP.:bsmilie: Its not that difficult to deduce.

Also, I have no idee when the christmas decorations will light up as that night I was literally killing time waiting to fetch my family.

The Space Shuttle Atlantis (OV-104) passing by the city-state of the Republic of Singapore one final time while simultaneously executing an Orbital Manoeuvring System (OMS) deorbit burn for an atmospheric re-entry and ultimately a landing back at the NASA Shuttle Landing Facility (KTTS), Kennedy Space Center (KSC) an hour later on the 26th of May 2010, 2048 hours Singapore Standard Time (SST).

Wow! Firstly that's a great shot. Secondly, how on earth do you know things like that?:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Hey, thanks guys. :D

Actually I had been stargazing ever since my secondary school days which is even way before I ventured into photography and plane spotting. There are plenty of resources available online such as open source planetarium softwares along with dedicated artificial satellite observation websites such as Heavens-Above and N2YO that automatically tracks and plots the trajectory of artificial satellites and celestial bodies either on a world map, star chart or both, in real-time and in the future.

Though for tracking OV-104 specifically during the STS-132 mission, I had relied on the NASA SkyWatch Java applet since the flight ephemerides data used is supposedly generated directly in Mission Control Center (MCC) by the Flight Dynamics Officers (FDO) rather than relying on possibly outdated Two-Line Element (TLE) set in the websites mentioned above.

Major activities with regards to the space shuttle mission are also broadcast live 24/7 through NASA TV with postings updated regularly on their website. ;)

Not exactly the best picture result on a rainy afternoon for a rehearsal.

A C-17 Globemaster took off from WSAP about half an hour ago. Heard the engine but didnt have time to dig out camera, mount zoom lens to shoot. Manage to see it take off in a southerly direction though. Love that plane.

on the approach to WSAP

My first plane shoot.

Where it this place?;)

Anywhere along the open road towards Marina Barrage, the landmark I notice was the 3 tablets ; they were lining up towards it.

I am still trying to find the best location to take the shot. Too bad there were heavy precipitations today, otherwise it would have been nice.

Equinox Complex at Swissôtel The Stamford for the best view. :bsmilie:

Nice pictures Gilcrest. Were you close to the jets? How loud was the F-15SG? This is a rare chance for the F-15SG to light the burners over Singapore. :)

Height I guess slightly above the 3 tablets as I was at ground level slightly off the flight line; afterburner effect I know from last week, it was heard over at Orchard/Tanglin end as I missed the 1st rehearsal last week. And the afterburner sound of the F15 reverbration is very defining
