Removal of decal for SQ

I noticed that the size of the Singapore Airline Cargo fleet of B747-412F had been reduced from 13 Mega Arks to 11 Mega Arks between 31st of March 2010 and 30th of April 2010 with 9V-SFA and 9V-SFB being deregistered.

Some snooping around my sources indicated that 9V-SFA and 9V-SFB had been transferred to El Al Cargo as 4X-ELF and Evergreen International Airlines as N491EV respectively. :)

oh no, i only have 9V-SFA in my picture collection..
missed the 9V-SFB

Another attempt at low light shoot on aircraft, what got my head scratching is the additional sparkles on the pic,

If I am not wrong, that's lens flare caused by the light source(s) in the frame and the internal reflections of the lens.

Sometimes, if you point the lens directly at a bright source of light (eg. the sun or streetlamps) there will be flaring. This phenomenon is more common with relatively low end or older lenses. Can also happen with newer lenses though, especially those with several elements.

What lens were you using?

Hi Skypacker,

Thanks for the enlightenment, at least I understand now better.

I am using Sigma 400 5.6 APO HSM and its old I guess but works great in the day.

Nice close up, I can see a sensor mounted on the roof of the canopy, might it be the helmet mounted target cueing system?

No idee what that was but I find it odd that it was sticking at the canopy.

Here's another few takes.
