The SB-800 supports ISO100, so very safely assured the SB-600 should too.

sorry espn, I mean is the camera support ISO100 ? :embrass:

"A new feature, the Nikon D70's built-in speedlight can be used as a remote "Commander" that controls multiple wireless SB-600 or SB-800 Speedlights. When in Commander mode, the built-in Speedlight does not fire, but instead repeats a series of small flashes to send control signals to the (optional) remote wireless Speedlights..."

Holy golly...Is this some sort of Wireless Remote like most Minolta camera? So cool

Heck, even the Nikkor AF-S 18-70 DX is much more attractive than ill-fated EF-S lenses...
Canon, on the other hand, is still coming up with sucky focal length & bloody expensive lenses...

Kudos for Nikon!
Will have to wait for Canon next move...

Canon will flood the market with more more more digital cams!

and the price war begins.... :bsmilie:

I won't be surprised to see a 300D replacement with improved specs by this september. Canon has been shortening its product cycles in a very aggresive manner.

However, I think that the D70 will hold court for quite a while as Nikons entry/mid camera. This will be until they can get their own LBCAST up to scratch and after they release a D2X. Perhaps then they will release a mid-range DSLR with the CAM1300, 8MP, larger viewfinder+magnification and other goodies.

right now, d70 and 300d almost at the same price point, but d70 offers features of 10D + more!! rgb metering!!

i only currently know abt canon equip....

how expensive are nikon lenses compared to canon?
is there like a NIKON equivalent for canon's LUXURY wide angle zoom gang (16-35/17-40) etc (or for that matter, canon luxury series)?

Whats the model names of nikon luxury series?
Does nikon have an equivalent of USM etc?

Honestly, even the 0.1x better crop factor is quite good.. takes off 1+mm off the wide angle... and 18mm x 1.5 is even less than 17x1.6...

and any current d2h d1h d100 users? How is nikon's UI compared to canon's 10D/equivalent?

I've used S45, g3, g5 ixus v3 and i just lurve canon UI.... then i tried a nikon 5700, super cannot make it!!!

How do the 2 brands UI compare on DSLRS? Anyone?

wah nice pics!
but too small to really see the quality, and most prob PS as well?

the colors look unnaturally good...

hey, but are they even allowed to post process their camera pics and then post them as samples??
or are all the samples straight out of camera?

sorry guyz, one more qn..

is there a good nikon 50mm prime? equivalent to canon 50/1.4?

Seems like onnie got 50/1.8 equivalent leh...

and nikon lenses are blardy exp!! there's a 17/40mm 2.8 equiv, but dun have 17/40 4.0 equiv!!

Hmmm. Why do I find myself looking at the prices of Nikon lenses?

Hope Canon responds soon with similar specs.

They replied with 1D2. Switching positions i guess. Not long ago Canon had 300D for low end and Nikon release D2H for high end.

There is a 50mm 1.4 but cost a lot more than the 1.8. Think someone selling one recently. No 17-40mm f4 but got 12-24mm f4 with a upcoming 18-70mm 3.5-4.5.

Why not touch a Nikon DSLR and experience for yourself?

Silent Wave Motor (AF-S) == USM
Vibration Reduction (VR) == IS
Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) == L

Nikon has a few 50 primes, to name a few I've seen in shops - 1.2, 1.4 and 1.8. But Nikon has no USM on it's 50mm.

17-40L can be compared with Nikon's AF-S 17-35/2.8G IF-ED.

Seen like the new SB600 is bit weak as compare to the SB800.

SB600- GN-30/98 (ISO 100, m/ft), 42/138 (ISO 200,m/ft) (at 35mm)
while
SB800- GN-38/125 (ISO 100, m/ft), 53/174 (ISO 200,m/ft) (at 35mm)
