i doubt it... if it's available it would surely be announced now, mabbe released later. this means that the D70 simply wasn't built to take a vertical grip.

perhaps wait for D100 flooding the 2nd hand market?

This is a great and most welcome surprise. Nikon cameras always come packed with features but cost big $$$. It is probably the very first time when there are unbeatable features with less price. God Damn !!! And just think COLOUR METER !!! i-TTL !!! Thank god I bought SB-800 instead of SB-80DX.

Any news on price?

my estimation... $1.8k to $1.9k

ohhh the specs are confirmed already? wahhhh making me drool, but then i bias towards canon leh, hope canon come up with a new DSLR to counter D70 while i am still saving

Hehehe, it is there already, 300D. But the specs are not even near to D70's. :blah:

Won't be surprised that after PMA 300D is EOL and 400D takes over. :)

Check this out:

And, it can shoot a rapid 3 frames per second for a continuous burst of 144 pictures (when using JPEG NORMAL - Large settings, and a SanDisk SDCHF256MB CompactFlash™ card) thanks to improved buffer memory handling, faster image processing, increased memory card access speed and greater system bus bandwidth.

Makes me tempted to change :(
actually i think the 144 shots buffer is a typo. the official buffer is 12 shots on JPEG - Large.

 SB600 looks cool. Dunno what the price will be.

does it support ISO100?

I'll wait patiently for the D200 cos can't live without the vertical shutter release and threaded cable release of the D100. :bsmilie:

but the D70 does have the option for wireless remote... ;)

without the vertical grip, i think it'll be good for short to medium range lenses...or the 28-200 type consumer lenses...

the initial street/web prices are out in japan....

D70 with lens = about 167790 yen (after 5% tax) (about 2,694.24 SGD)
D70 body only = about 125790 yen (after 5% tax) (about 2,019.83 SGD)

Larry, I think this means the limit is only the size of the card. Also means the burst throughput will be ~4-5MB/s. Close to that of D2H.
It is unlikely that Nikon's official website make this kind of mistake. Below is the link to Nikon HQ's English website.

The SB-800 supports ISO100, so very safely assured the SB-600 should too.
