6D firmware update is available here

Changes Firmware Version 1.1.2 incorporates the following fix. - Fixes a phenomenon which prevents movie files shot using Canon EOS 6D Digital SLR cameras from being played back on YouTube.
Notes: Firmware version 1.1.2 may present some Video Snapshot limitations. Please review the two scenarios and the workaround provided below.

1. EOS 6D running Firmware Version 1.0.9: If a video snapshot captured when the camera was running firmware 1.0.9 is combined with a video snapshot created by a camera which was running firmware 1.1.2, the resulting video snapshot album will be corrupted.

2. EOS 6D running Firmware Version 1.1.2: If you try to add a video snapshot from a camera running firmware 1.1.2 to the video snapshot album created when the camera was running firmware 1.0.9, a warning message "Cannot select this movie" will appear and the video snapshot cannot be added to the album.
Please follow this workaround which addresses the two scenarios described above.

1) Shoot a video snapshot and create a video snapshot album.
2) Import the captured video snapshot album to your computer.
3) Start ImageBrowser EX, an application bundled with the EOS 6D.
4) Select the video snapshot album, and select [Edit Movie] in the [Edit] tab.
5) MovieEdit Task will start.
6) Select [Add Image] and select video snapshot album to add the movie snapshot.
7) Select [Save] and [Save image type], and then click [Save].

Firmware Version 1.1.2 is for cameras with firmware version 1.0.9. If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.1.2, it is not necessary to update the firmware.
When updating the firmware of your camera, please first go over the instructions thoroughly before you download the firmware.

Hi, anybody know if the battery grip for 6D is available? How much dies it cost?

In B&H, Nikon D600 is cheaper than Canon 6D now.

To the owners of the canon 6D, has there been any issues so far with the new camera? I read that there's a certain video issue/problem, which will not allow videos shot by 6D to be uploaded or viewed in YouTube. However I'm not too sure if this affected the batch in the US only - are those in Singapore affected too?

Seems pretty good so far. Any other issues e.g. dust, pixel, light leak issue etc? Considering to take the plunge soon! :)

In US, that holds till end Dec 2012. Seems like Nikon is desperately trying to grab market shares and empty their inventory. Anyway, you can read more about that from bythom.com

At this point, I have decided to stop all buying and selling of camera gear. Yap, no more 6D or D600 or m43 stuff. None of the systems offers everything I want. I shall wait a few years... sticking to my OMD and lenses for now.

Canon initial prices are ridiculous. Need a year to stabilize.
Nikon factory QC is in the pits.
Fujifilm AF too slow, raw poorly supported.
Sony has limited lens range.
m43 DOF too deep.

This issue has been resolved by the manufacturer via a firmware update and is no longer relevant. Over-all the 6D is getting good reviews.

Canon 6D YouTube Video Issue - Resolved

price in US doesnt affect canon sg. as far as I know, i have seen many black friday discounts, ebay amazon great deals and many rebates in USA, but we do not benefit from it at all ever.

thanks guys! no other issues so far? :bsmilie: looking good!

Another endorsement of Canon 6D AF: see this. Its AF consistency is as good as the D800.

Interestingly, we see that both contrast and phase detect AF are poor on 5D2 and 7D. No disagreement from me regarding 7D. They go all over the place. The problem I have with 7D contrast detect is its ridiculous insensitivity. This is the second confirmation of how good the 6D AF is in comparison to that of 7D.

I can't wait for Focal's AF results on the D7000/D600 and 5D3. I am willing to bet the D7000/D600 AF goes all over the place, much like 5D2 and 7D. :)
