Official Canon EOS 60D User Thread Part II

Hi Bros,

May I know how do we adjust the picture sharpness in 60D? There shd be a function for us to choose the sharpness level right but I can't find it. Can someone enlighten me pls?

The settings are in the picture style.

Hi Bro,
So you wud also sell your 70-200 if you find you're under-utilizing it?

Sorry I missed this question. :) Yes, I will sell the 70-200 if I find I hardly use it. As of now, all my lenses are heavily utilized except for my macro lens. But that is because I have not engaged in macro shooting recently. However, since chasing after bugs is probably the most meaningful activity for me in a tropical city like Singapore, I don't plan to sell it. :bsmilie:

Don't remember if I have said this before, but I'll say it again: the 60D is by far the most beloved camera I have ever owned. Depending on the sensor quality of the upcoming 650D, I may purchase another 60D to replace my ancient 450D.

Hmm..but i do like the tele zoom just like 1 of the bro he's shy and wud shoot street candid from far and I would personally like to get the 70-200 f4 than the 70-300L cos of the weight but the extra 100m on the 70-300 is useful at times....zzzz dilemma again ah....lol

Huh? Are you saying you own 60D before or you are owning a 60D and wouldn't mind to get another 60D???

I own the 60D and don't mind getting another copy. Great camera!

Sorry Bro,

Care to share if u set the sharpness to 3 or 4?

Bro,

I don't really sharpen my image for all the picture style. I only sharpening I do is for landscape which is then dependent on the lens used. For the rest I don't really sharpen them. Because I find shooting in RAW and sharpen in Lightroom gives better results than doing the sharpening with the picture style.

Hey guys

I've got an issue with the pics from my 60d.

There's a fair bit of noise in pics even when taken at 100iso.

What settings do u guys use.

Do u use the in camera noise reduction for long exposure?

And does shooting in raw also ignore the noise reduction done by the camera?

Would appreciate advise in this area

are u sure that the ground ur shooting at isnt vibrating or anything? cos if u shoot long exposures on bridges, cars can affect.
and might the picture be not in focused?

how does vibrating ground affects noise performance of the camera?

Hi 60D users, i am quite new to my 60D, just want to ask a simple question. Will monochrome (black and white) only available in CA mode? Is it available in other modes too? Like manual or AV, TV modes? How come evertime i shoot a black and white shot, my picture is always grainy (lots of noise) can it be adjusted?

Sorry i dont have time to read my 60D manuals. I dont have time to do my homework and all. So if you think you can help me then thank you in advance. If you cant say anything good then I suggest dont post and waste your time.

Cheers : )

I have the same problem with my 60D but a little different. Having owned the 550D and used the 7D, noise level at ISO 400 and below seems the same across the models. Yes, there is noise and it's not perfect. However, at ISO 800 and above, noise becomes apparent, and I start seeing white/blue/red dots at random over any image at 1/60 sec. I've seen many 100% untouched samples and mine seems worse.

My 60D is now at CCC for investigation.

I suggest you google for 60d sample images similar to the ones you took in terms of exposure and settings (eg. indoors, evening, etc.), and check the exif data to verify. If they look much better than what you get at the same ISO, you could have a bad copy.

Take a look at the link which I found:

No, not only in CA mode. You can change Picture Style to Monochrome in all of the manual modes.
