Official Canon EOS 60D User Thread Part II

Does make sense but 1st...I nid to knock myself up to b able to accept 3rd party...will definitely take a good look at it....thanks :)

not all 3rd party lenses are bad, you just need to pick and choose the right one.

Aiyo Bro it's not that la....remember i said before that I'm a brand-conscious idiot? Has been like that since young and it's not easy to overcome...read a few review and actually it's not bad....will definitely give it a serious tot....thanks bro :)

Bro. I am using 600d with grip and 24-70 is already over weight.

I think I will rent the lens instead of buying as I seldom use this focal length. Unless I head down to hong long and have a chance then will buy F4

Actually I will compare the price in DDE n HKG b4 deciding where to get it cos at least you hv shop warranty if you buy from DDE but HKG? as gd as no warranty :)

hehe one easy way is to stop coming to clubsnap plus any other photography sites for a while.
just go shooting with your current setup.. then see if you're still reminded of 70-200..

if you constantly think you need 70-200, then maybe rent one for a day see if you still like it?

for me, all i did to stop the virus is to stop going to the classifieds section, the site reviews on the things i wanna get (but dun really need it yet).

I couldn't agree more. I used to have this mindset that I want to cover the whole range. I bought all the lens that would cover it (10-22, 17-55, 70-200) then until I realized I didn't utilised much of the 70-200and ultra wide....

I found myself often shooting within the range of 17-55 in the end... Hence I sold the other 2 lens instead.

Dear all,

im new to the forum and just recently purchased my 600D after following this thread for a while.

I have smth to clarify with you fellow users of 600D though.

at the handgrip part of the camera, where the battery is suppose to be.. i realise that sumtimes when i hold my camera tightly, the hand grip area does move a little, esp near the lower part when the battery is inserted. It compresses slightly, as if there isn't a proper seat or a screw not tighten properly.

Does anyone have this similar problem? thank you.

Hi Ong,

I'm new too and have been learning alot from the bros here :)

Actually you're in de wrong thread this is a 60D and not 600D thread:P

Anyway, I've own the 600D just a couple of months ago before I switch to my 60D but have not encounter anything like what you've mention. Then again, I've nvr seen anybody holding their camera tightly like you mention. WE should be holding it firmly but not tightly. If you're worried, it's best that you let CSC chk it out since it's still under warranty. Cheers :)

ya understand wat you mean...just like Rhema bro selling his 70-200 cos of under usage... but i'm that kind who wud rather keep the lens for even that low use rather than to get/find 1 when in need and will totally forget about cost lol :P
But for you suggestion, i'll weigh their price difference when i'm about to get it....thx :)
Haha, I can't believe someone quoted me as an example. Anyway, it is good that fellow CSers can learn from my experience and mistake. For a non-professional, it doesn't make sense to put money into equipment that don't get used often. There are too many good lenses (and equipment in general) around, so you need to prioritize where the limited funds go toward. There is also a physical limit to how much gear you can carry comfortably on trips, if you like to travel.

For me, the price of a 70-200 f/4L IS can be better spent on a 10-22 UWA and carbon fiber tripod, with change to buy a high quality CPL.

Interestingly, I have all the items you mentioned: 70-200 f/4L IS, 10-22, carbon-fiber tripod and high quality CPL in your post. I brought all these + 60D camera + 17-55 f/2.8 IS for a recent trip and used everything. :) The 70-200 for wildlife, 10-22 and 17-55 for landscape.

I have to agree with you about under-utilized lenses: sell 'em.

Lol Bro... sorry to have done that but indeed your experiences are a gd example for noob like me to learn.. but like I said, I rather have a complete range of reach rather than to go find/rent a tele when I nid it but that's me :P

Sorry to go OT but do you think cropping a photo taken from the 70-200 wud b gd? for eg, I wanna take a close up but couldn't reach with the 70-200 so wud cropping it degrade the IQ?

Thx :)

Hi Bro,

So you wud also sell your 70-200 if you find you're under-utilizing it?

Do you print your images? If so, how large? If you don't, what size do you normally use for web display?

Hi Bro,

thanks for your kind reply. to be frank as a noob i've never adjust my size after PP in lightroom. i just export it into a jpeg file w/o re-sizing it (wonder what is the normal size ppl resize to). and i normally only upload to facebook nothing else atm.

i also dont forsee myself printing the photos except some portraits shoot where subject ask for it lol....

To All Bros using the 60D,

For those bros who is using 60D n wish to have their top LCD protected, I recommend getting it from Bro Michaelwks. I just received my order from him and I find that the film is the soft type which will be very good/easy for the top lcd as it is flat.

Just my 2cents. :)

i need to use this cam more often, really convenient to bring it around..

Hi Bros,

May I know how do we adjust the picture sharpness in 60D? There shd be a function for us to choose the sharpness level right but I can't find it. Can someone enlighten me pls?
