I was there to redeem my tripod too. scarly we bump into each other lol.....

i only have a polycarbonate one for my main LCD, the one on the top LCD dropped off because the surface was curved and the adhesive wasn't strong enough.

i couldn't be bothered and just leave it as it is.

Bro, do you mean you have the polycarbonate (hard plastic) one for your 60D's main swivel LCD? May I know where can I get one?

I am wondering why some of us have to resort to getting a screen protector for the top LCD screen when we hardly use it or rather touch it. It is understandable if we want to protect the back LCD screen as most of the time we have to rely on it and sometimes even to the extent of turning it at a certain angle when we use the live view and in the process may cause some scratches. But using the top LCD screen? Even if we do use it, what is the risk of scratching it? Very remote, I should say. I think some of us are getting paranoid about it. Fear not, I don't think there is hardly any risk of the top LCD being scratch. So, just leave it alone.

Oh I use the top LCD a lot.. somehow getting used to it very fast as the information stays there most of the time. On the main LCD you have to press.. err.. the info or the Q button? And relying on the smaller top saves battery too

And if you can have the top LCD covered, cover it..

I had this bad experience when I borrowed my GF's 450D on a church event. After some games, I put it on top of my back pack to take a short break. The bag was almost empty, so it can act as a thin cushioning, I don't want the church pavement scratched the camera. Or so I thought. I released my hand from the camera after making sure that it stay stable enough on top of that bag - and started to stretch myself, drank water, ate snacks, etc.. To my horror, just after few seconds, the camera slided & dropped onto the pavement. Not a big drop of course, the camera is still working well until now.

Except now it has one, single dent, on top where, on 60D, is the location of that top LCD

( And not to mention it's my gf's camera :cry: )

Bro, sorry but can I check with you your cover on the top LCD really sticks well on the perimeter? I stick mine last nite but 1 side couldn't stick well as the adhesive is not strong enuf to hold it since its not flat. It seems to stick when you press all the angle but after awhile you'll see 1 side will give way popping up just a little. Its no issue for now but as time goes by it'll definitely drop off once it collect enuf dust/dirt.Can share how you do it?

i've one for my 7D, i don't own the 60D.

Technica: I think that there are a lot of people waiting to see what comes of your painful ordeal. Hopefully everything will turn out well for you. I'm not sure why the moderator closed the thread. Regardless, for our benefit, would you be willing to open up another thread with a similar title so that the topic remains visible for all who want to see this issue to completion?

Perhaps you can use the same title as before and add, "Mark II".

I know but cos I'm noob (in photography as well as CS) just wanted to know how can things happen just like that. I bought a fairly high end B&W CPL from Hong Kong about 3 years ago. I can't remember exactly how much I paid for it but it was a little over $200.

I'm not using any CPL at the moment as I don't see the need to.

I've a 10 stop ND filter from B+W though and I use it for my landscape shots.

Haha just for one screen protector? Not worth it la bro! Anyway, just like bro tecnica mentioned, 600D to 60D is not a big jump, might as well just go for 7D, else just stay with your 600D lor IMHO, i don't think it's worth to upgrade just because or the ergomonics, 7D is a better bet. Just my opinion

No bro. The hood attachment area is faulty. As I will be using hood. So never buy. Saw another one with dust. Hai... I think I may get 1st hand.
