I had posted this on another thread but no one had replied, so trying my luck here.

Has anyone experienced problems with the built-in flash not popping up when pressing the flash button? This happens after attaching and detaching an external flash on the hotshoe.

I googled about this and found that this is quite a common problem with the 60D and some other Canon models. There's a little piece of metal spring on the hotshoe that has gone out of alignment and a temporary fix is to bend the it back. Has anyone experienced this problem on your 60D, do you send it to Canon service centre for a more permanent fix whilst under warranty or just live with it and have to bend the hotshoe spring back everytime after using external flash?

I am using the 430EX II flash by the way.

If still under warranty just bring back to canon to find a permanent solution to the problem. If not just bend it back like beckham. 

just bought a 60D with kit 3 and 580EX2 from courts. I know it is expensive to buy there but for the installment plan..credit card is 12 mths.. i got mine for 24mth! haha
upgraded from my 500D with kit lens!

Today by pass challenger at east point. Wanted to change to canon from my d7000. I prefer the colour canon gives. I went and ask the staff at the camera section about the 60d price. He told me around 2.6k! I was like O.O

So I asked him,"with kit lens?". He say ya... Kit 1.

I walk out straight. The last I check on canon sg, the price was max ard 1.8k. Don't know he blur or trying to smoke me.

I'm using the tamron 17-50 non VC. Gives me very good result over the kit lens. Cant go wrong with this lens. However u may wanna hear what others have to say about the sigma.

ok you using local set or grey set? and the focus sound is it very loud?

if you can afford the sigma, then go for it.

else the tamron will do fine as well.

Local or grey set will not affect the cause of focus issue. They are from the same factory, juz that they took a different ship to our shore.

No focus issue for me for both my grey sigma lens.
