Official Canon EOS 60D User Thread Part II

hmmm i doubt will be getting kit 3 shud be getting kit 1 so no batt grip for me

maybe u can share with someone who's interested in the 18-200mm?

hmmmm yea thats what i heard. only heard purchase with purchase for batt grip. do u think i will need a dry cabinet? first dslr
First DSLR or not, the dry cabinet is the first most important thing to get esp in our humid country. Batt grip is actually the least important thing until you really need it because you shoot a lot of portraits or because you have really heavy lenses and need to balance out the weight.
More often than not, you won't need a batt rip. The batt lasts a really long time actually. Just buy a 2nd batt better.
Also, unless you like tugging around a huge camera and have a big bag to carry it around, a batt grip might make the camera too big sometimes. Yes, it makes the camera look "pro" but imagine it with a kitI lens…it'll be quite out of proportion…Mate it with a 70-200 f2.8 then yes, the batt grip makes sense.

anyone encountered Error 05 when using in-built flash? Suddenly got this error today.

"Error 05
The built-in flash could not be raised. Turn the camera off and on again"

Flash popped up but there is 3 clicked and this error come up whenever I am using in-built flash.

Anyone installed EF-D focusing screen on their 60D? Any reviews? easy to do it?

any shop has stock of 60D body only?

Not sure if this is what you're referring to, but here goes.

There is a small switch/latch underneath the hotshoe which gets stuck. Just pry/pick it with something til it gets unstuck..

Should look something like this.

Hope this helps.

I'm using 24-105 with 60D. Work well together with 10-22. As a walkabout lens , it perform great when there is enough light.
But really slow when there are low light due to F4.

Might be buying it this coming saturday...seems like SLR revolution has the best quote...
Alot of the freebies seems redundant to me...like the canon bag...its too small for my usage, the tripod..which i already has more than 1... n no dry cabi...which i hope they will give..as i have fully maximised my current one..

If any of you guys know of good freebies bundled deal at any outlet, can share? :) appreciate it...

Have you using the hot shoe cover on the flash adapter?

i just bought 60D last weekend (upgrading from 450D) and used it on sunday...the grip is still too small for my hand but the weight is just nice.
AF is faster (on my siggy 50 150) and i'd like LCD..it's a big deal compare to my fellow 450D.
but i have a lil bit problem with viewfinder...i can't see the info..it's too deep inside and anyone have an idea....where can we get EF-D focus....i always have a problem with this...my horizon is not straight...hahaha

Buy a magnifier for the VF lor…and the EF-D you can get from Canon shop in Vivo.

This can be adjustable with the diopter. try whether it would help on your problem.
