The pancake lens is very affordable and brings great IQ to your photos. Photozone gives it a rare, "Highly Recommended" status on its review of the lens.

Another accessory that I find very useful is a good tripod. Great for night photography.

Are you serious? Is it that painful? As soon as you add heavy FF lenses it doesn't matter anymore anyway.

Haha. I have always wondered exactly how much weight is actually saved. I mean, the difference is a mere 200 - 300g? I'd understand if you are downgrading from a 1DX to a 1100D or a EOS M due to weight issues, but I honestly think a switch from a 5D Mark III to a 6D isn't going to save your arms or backs of the aches you may be experiencing.

I agree for the most part... the only exception may be the fact that the small form factor of the 6D could give a psychological advantage to those who find the large and imposing mass of the 5D3 less than trifling.

For me the 6D only makes sense when you use exclusively small, lightweight and slow primes. As soon as you add heavier stuff I would go straight to the 5D3.

True. If one is pairing it with a bazooka lens most of the time then it doesn't make as much sense. The weight distribution would be a bit off too.
