Because Canon products bought from Technogadgets do not enjoy full warranty coverage from Canon Singapore.

well maybe it's just me, sometimes i still prefer it because you can trust more compared to buying from b&s. is the body there sold local set or?

they sell export sets, the warranty is covered by the shop. the staff is a nice guy

That's a good price! Wonder is it a good idea if I order one from USA online and ship it back? I scared the cam will b damaged while shipping, or worse still the merchant is a fraud. Lol

Well, you would have to pay GST if you ship it to Singapore. I actually got mine from Fredmiranda.com. I don't really think the cam will be damaged. I bought a 30D about 4 years ago from FM as well and it was shipped here with no problem.

I went back to the 5dm3 user thread part 1 to look for street price during march (first mth of launch) I found that the street price is still $4100-4200 since march.

No drop at all why?!

So those people who dont want to be 'early adopter' have been waiting for price drop for 9 mths already?

Think price has dropped a bit compared to launch. I paid $4250 the day BEFORE official launch. No chance of bargain at all.
