They announce after 17 May can send it le but no official broadcast from them

Canon says after May 17 can send it but no official broadcast? Anyone see a contradiction.

Hi Guys, just bought my 5D3 last week from the Canon dealership in Jakarta. Cost me Rp29,810,000 or S$4035, body only. 1 year warrantee.

Very good price. Have fun with it.

Camera gear in JKT is always cheaper…that's why many ppl actually buy from there…if you don't care about waranty

I got a 1 year warranty because I bought directly from the Canon Agent.

I think he means it's a local Indonesian warranty and you can't use the warranty in SG.

Heh guys just got my 5d3 today!!! :)

I think this question has been answered before. I tried googling and it just linked me to the 5d3 thread which has many pages.

I wanted to know which brand of screen protector did you guys use? And for how much did you guys get it for> and from where?

thanks so much

GSS, buy from Peninsular.

Yes, GSS..i got mine from ebay..i think i only paid SGD10 for it…if you buy from SG i think is more expensive..but at least you don't have to wait for shipment :)
Actually i already am using the Hercules one..it's not glass like GGS, but it's bigger in size and since it's already stuck on my camera, i didnt' remove it..i jus used the GGS one for the top LCD…:)

Is it out already?

Yup I think for quite some time already. I bought it together with a Nikkor pre-AI 50mm f/1.4 with EOS mount AF adapter a few weeks back.,

It's GGS and you can get it from Orient Photo for $15. Got mine on eBay though. Costs around $10 but of course need to wait for it.

thanks for the help .. got mine today. However.. The guy says the the protector on top it is impossible not to have any air trap in there as it is made of acrylic and is not possible to bend it to the curvature of the screen. ANy of you have this issues?

Yes, the guy is correct. The protector is not those typical thin piece of plastic that can bend to suit the curvature of the top screen. You will definitely have some air bubble on the top LCD.

Please wait for a couple of days. I had a similar issue when I installed the top protector. I thought, I did not place it properly and tried to correct it. But at the end I soiled and damaged the top protector and then installed another new one with extra care. Surprisingly the second top protector also showed the same phenomena and I just left it as such as I realized it as design fault. To my surprise, the air streak disappeared in couple of days and looks perfect now. However the air streak may appear again if you apply pressure on the top LCD. Otherwise it is perfectly alright in my camera.

anyone send their camera to repair the leak ?

Visited CSC two days ago for some other reason. Checked with the counter staff if light leak service started. They said yes and according to the staff, customer have started sending for servicing. I am not sure how far it is true. Lead time is seven working days it seems. Wondering why they take that long to perform this work. Is it not their responsibility to act faster for correcting their own manufacturing fault?

.

If me also quote you 7 days... at least I can take my time as long its within that 7 days. Lets say 3 days... but suddenly due to the influx of unit... i cant finish how.
