Yup, took the Mkiii to the night safari on the very first day it was launched. Was amazed by it's low light capabilities. I still get OOF shots esp with moving animals but compared to my Mkii, I would say it's a marked improvement.
All taken with 5DMkiii + 70-200 f2.8 IS Mkii ISO from 10000 to 51200.

5DMkiii Test Shots - a set on Flickr

nice shots. I'm waiting for this sat to test out Night Safari.

Going to use the same setup as you so I hope I get good results! Any tips on what AF settings I should use?

Yes, I can't believe myself spending 4k+ on "part" of a camera ... Are we all crazy

1D series buyer are mostly PRO who make $ out of it.
So that is normal. It is a business tool not a hobby.

Aaaaah just in time for Mk IV then. :P

If I used a class 4 or slower SD card, set as multiple as a backup, will it slow down the fps?

It won't directly affect the FPS but it will affect how fast the camera clears the buffer. Which in turn will affect how many shots you can take before the buffer fills up and at 6 FPS, you will spend a bit of time waiting when you are going mad with the burst rate. So, yes, get a faster card.

So how fast is fast??? Around 60mb/s card???

I recommend at least 60mb/s cards. As SD is cheaper, you can consider having SD as main card and CF as overruns.

Depends lah.. Actually SanDisk Ultra 30MB/s cards are fast enough to even take 1D4's max 10FPS burst.

Be patient... Currently there's none in the market, unless you DIY from big pieces of screen protectors for mobile phones.

no exact size, but 60D's screen pro should do fine now. I used it, it covers 95% of the screen. Just left and right side 2mm isn't covered.

I am temporarily using the 60D protector as it fits ALMOST perfectly. As someone mentioned, there's a gap of 1mm on either side of the LCD screen left and right but otherwise it's a pretty decent fit. Will wait for GGS ones when they become available. Mine is the SteinZeiser one I got from Harvey Norman.
