Try call tk ask can reserve or not loh.

BUT from what I heard at TK 5mins after stock arrived, someone walk in without pre-order and they were nice enough to split a kit set because all body only set are reserved.

TK out of stock, must wait next batch

you collect order here then walk in said you want 10sets and show the cash may be they are eager to earn your sales 1st and spilt all the kit unit

out of curiosity, after they split the set, what they do with the kit lens? the kit lens is IN the box right? what they do with the lens WITHOUT the box? return to Canon?

Can some of the 5D m3 owners confirms there the video mode got continuous auto-focus or it's the same as in the 5D m2 (requires button press to re-focus)?

sometimes i wonder what is the logic behind selling kit unit, they can offer to sell lens at lower price with "purchase with purchase" promotion. I doubt there are seriously so many people who are desperate enough to buy the kit and sell the lens later.

Actually my mum has the answer to why the 5D mark 3 is selling so well despite the price tag...IT IS BECAUSE WE WERE FOOLED.

If canon had annouced that the 5d3 rrp is 3200USD(4.2K SGD), then we would have all complained why it is so expensive. Then when the actual price tag came out is really 4.2k sgd and street price selling at 4.2k sgd, nobody would have bought it.

BUT what canon did was to price it really high such that everybody was disappointed and felt that they couldn't justify spending so much money on it. Then when the actual street price came out as much lower than the predicted price, suddenly, 4.2k feels so affordable.

It is kinda like you go back for ICT in the army. Your officer tell you to expect a 3week ICT for the next ICT and everybody is sad and dejected. 3months later, mindef notification serve you a 2 week ICT notice. Suddenly everybody feels so happy that it is only a 2 weeks high key ICT, but in reality, 2 weeks is still bloody long.

Got it at CP and was very happy with everything as I had to spend 6k some 2 years ago to get a 60D with 17-55F2.8, 70-200F4 IS and software. The performance of 5D3 is simply amazing. However, some problems processing CR2 as the files are not recognised by Photoshop CS5 yet. CR2 files of 5D3 can be viewed by the new suits of software provided by Canon. Well, I have lost touch with DPP and have to wait until after 22 March for the new CR2 to be supported according to Adobe.

Kit set is because some users really don't know what to buy(or rather, they have no idea what they are buying). So kit set is to provide something that is usable for the end user without stretching his mind.

probably sell to retailer at lower price to entice them to buy

Yap, for large shop and good relationship with Canon.... think no issue.... repackage and sell.....

If there are long long queue at new property launch costing well over a million... and sold out within few hours..... this is not surprising at all.....

Was one of the last few collecting at TK today ...

Body didn't feel as heavy as expected. The Focus is dead solid ...

But i don't use it for photography so .. Haha ..

lol, u mean u use it for videography right? Unless u intent to use it as a murder weapon :p The weight will then be disappoint to you :p

I discovered a fatal flaw with the 5d iii af system. Using a sigma 150mm macro lens(which the cam probably thought is the 180mm L), only 33 focus point can be used. It is actually pretty ok considering that the other bodies don't even have 33 af points, but the problem is that all the 33 af points are pretty much stuck in the middle, kinda like the outer af point spread on the 5d II. This is crap for af in macro considering that the dof is quite thin for recomposing...Apparently the 100mm macro can have all the outer af points.

Why is this so?

I got the body only set from TK. Did not reserve. Walk in customer and I doubt I reached just when stocks came in. :)

Maybe it can be fixed by re-chipping the lens?
