dont worry i learnt 1 thing about mounting lens. When doing it align the white dot on the lens body with the white dot on the camera body and twist. Tada you lens is locked in place

White for EF-S lenses and red for EF lenses.

Anyone know if it is possible to use the light near the grip to assist in AF rather than having to pop out the flash for af assist for 550D?
I don't it is possible right.
I got some situation whereby it is indoor and dark but i can't use the flash to assist in AF as it is too bright and irritates the subject/person.

I am thinking of getting a nissin 622. I read that the red part of the flash is able to help me with AF? Is that true?

Hey.. Im Back.. I had an idea in mind jus wondering if it would work here.

It is like a weekly assignment to take a best shot of a Given Topic. e.g: Stairs
Each person are only allowed to submit a single photo of the topic onto the thread and make suggestions for the next weekly assignment.
The Assignment will Repeat cycle after cycle with a different TOPIC..

I just collected my 550D at CSC during lunch, didn't have any SD card with me til i came back office.

The push eject for SD card doesnt seem to be working, i searched and found a thread in DPreview with people saying some batches have this problem and after several tries it starts to work.

can anyone confirm?

Having a problem with my 550d, when i turn on the camera, I can only access the Potrait, landscape and video mode.....the usual mode that I use AV or TV cannot be accessed???

So I took out battery for a day and it was back to normal...however, the same problem happen again after a few hours.....HELP HELP....

Wanted to take some pics for CNY.....

When I turn the dial to select the other functions, it will only rotate between the potrait, video, landscape and macro functions, in fact the function does not tally with what the dial will show....sigh......any experts out there???

Perhaps send it to the Canon service centre?

Oh guys. I was playing with my setting. And I realized that when I set the exposure, the picture turns out the same. How can I test if it's working? I was shooting indoor during day time.

Have been holding to my 550D for almost 1 year now. It's a ok entry level cam. The only thing is that I do not like the ISO. The noise level for the image is terrible beyond ISO 800. Sound of the shutter is also a bit loud. Will be changing to FF soon...

Hi, I very often using ISO 1600 indoor and ISO 800, the noise level is acceptable for me.. may be you can paste some of your image..
