this cam is indeed a very capable camera....
grip and view finder size aside.. hee.. and of course its not a 5D mk ii...
sharing some shots of my son with a 50mm F1.8 (all iso 1600)...
To d guys who were talking abt getting lens, if u can afford go for d canon 50mm f1.4 or even better sigma 50mm f1.4. No doubt d 50mm f1.8 is usable n sharp too... Sign but many times I see ppl use it, it really make d whole system look damn cheap... Sign d plastic look of it just look too Jiak lak. Lol I shd be saving for 50mm f1.4 canon
I actually like the feel/look of the 50 f1.8 on my 550d... doesnt look too intimidating to others esp when you're taking candid shots.
use too big a lens and they get all stiffy and stuff.
plus its super light in that combi. great for lugging it around all day.

How do you find the weight of 15-85 to your 550D?
Sign... In another few months, this new toy will soon be obsolete as more new models coming out soon too loh... Such d life of all these camera fate... As we owners gerbgreedy n start to forsake them for more pretty sexier lady ... Lol all men same
i second this.. :thumbsup::thumbsup:
the 15-85 is oso just nice for a walkabout lens; its the one lens that i'm thinking of buying to keep n use as a kit lens.. but still with the 50 1.8, my cam is like a throw in the bag, bring anywhere cam... doesn't matter if i'm not shooting that day, just go out oso can bring along..
with the 15-85, i could, but i wouldn't just chuck it in my bag everyday.. i would use it when i'm going with something in mind.. i know i will shoot sth...
No offense bro, but my question is addressed to martellkr since he has the 15-85
haha, no la, i was just chipping in my 2cents worth.. since i've used it before and i think the weight to body ratio really nice...
ah ok, thanks for the feedback
are you thinking of buying the 15-85?? i was also pondering whether to buy it so i have a zoom lens to use at my disposal...
maybe get my fren to buy back from HK cheaper~!
yes, i'm interested in this lens also
i think buy from hong kong u save about 100 dollars. But becareful, canon no longer offering intl warranty anymore.
depends la... could be $100 less could be $200...
the warranty just have to make sure its the international warranty card... unless its the new lens, the warranty will be the local warranty only..
