landscape lens $300 ? I don't think it's possible.

Landscape lens

Canon 10-22, tokina 11-16 sigma 10-20, 8-16, tamron 10-24.

All around 800-1.2k ??

Beginner lens can consider tam 17-50, sigma 18-50 for like 600-800 range ?

Otherwise die die must buy lens.. Buy 55-250 lor $300++ ..

50 1.8 is also not bad.. $100++

dont buy for the sake of buying lol. think of what u need first, then buy. if need be, save up for it instead of buying something when u have a limited budget then regret later

thanks for ur advice, yes at this moment i dont need any lens but of cause if there is a good catch i will go for it.

well since the price is not really that attactive maybe i will put aside 1st. I try my fren's 55-250 it is a not bad lens but i dont really into zoom.

closest thing to this $300 budget for UWA, unfortunately, is only the Samyang 8mm f/3.5:

Hi, please test again tomorrow in normal lighting :) If u want to do a test at night, use a tripod. Shoot a focus chart, see got problems. Go google it.

heya, tried again in normal lighting today but poor focus still exists. pictures just aint sharp as what i did see on the display piece at the fair or at canon centre at vivo.

Brought my camera to canon svc centre today. They said they will check and let me know. I feel that my ixus 860 shoots better than 550d even..:(

As for post processing of pictures, I am not very keen due to the effort involved. Just imagine after shooting 100 pics a day then gotta process each of them one at a time.. just too time consuming.

I also have a D40X previously - comparing IQ - d40X seems to be better..:(

Very disappointing buy - any owners here care to share their experience re: focussing issues? Are all your pictures crystal clear? Please advise.

Hi there I recently got the 550D kit 1. A bit disappointed as i am new and not expected the zoom to be that near. But over all happy with the cam. Might be a question posted before but what things should i get for my cam? I already have the lens protector which acts as a UV filter (but causes lens flare to happen when talking pics of car with headlights on), tripod and screen protector. May Thanks

guys... can someone tell me the purpose of a lens hood? i know ppl use that to 'block' the light to take a nicer photo, some use that for mirco purpose. But seriously what does the purpose of that.

btw i saw there is alot of kind, got flower kind, got round kind so wat is suitable? :dunno:

there are some in camera settings which you can tune your pics to your liking....
try getting a better lens?...

think the ppl in this forum will ask you to post some pics to share with the settings you used... so ppl can advise you accordingly

Lens hoods are used to prevent stray light from entering the lens, thus creating flare. its other purpose to to protect the lens, in case u accidently knock the front element and incur expensive repair costs.

Each lens has its own kind of lens hood, so u need to check what lens u have. usually lenses without rotating front element will have petal hood while those with, have round hood. generally, petal hoods are more effective as they cover the specific area.

Hi to all,

Just got hold of a 550D Kit I + 50mm F1.8 lens today and only just took a few pics with both the lens. This is my first DSLR and i'm happy with the DSLR quality of the pics when reviewing them from the viewer. Previously i was using a Canon Exilim Digital camera and was really bothered with the IQ, and finally decided to commit to this DSLR to take better pics for my baby gal and family.

Looking forward to sending my pics for critique at the critic corner as well as reading up more on the basics on photography. Hope CSers will be patient with me and my queries!

Regards.

Nomic
