has any 500D users upgrade their body? thinking of doing so but not sure if i shd go for 5dm2, 7d or just the 50d will do.
hmm, just my personal opinion.hey guys.
I m a 500D owner myself. Loving it for teaching me e basic.
but now, i m thinking of changing to a new body [next year].
shud i wait for '600D' or get a smaller digit model [but not FF. a few more years til FF.]??
wad do u guys think?
i like 7D and there is a rumour that 7DII coming soon. should i wait for that?? :bsmilie:
i want a better ISO performance & cleaner pics. Frame per second not important to me.

you can aim for a FF, i have highlighted some words that a FF will enable that 2 areas which you desire.
I think in all honesty, 500D can teach one the basics and more, not just the basics![]()
u r welcomeThanks for the suggestion.
shall head to the casino for e extra budget that I need. [or wait for 3 more months of pay]wish me luck proud canon users!
xxD series roadmap no longer going towards the magnesium alloy body alr...either the XXD series for better non plastic build, 7D series for faster fps (this is not your concern i know) or even FF for better ISO and what you see is what you get focal length.
calibration? i guess you are referring to Lens Calibration. normally when u have front or back focusing problem, you will send your lens and ur body to do calibration. unlike higher end model, 500D cannot do micro calibration for lens.Hi Canon 500D,
My camera will expired on Dec 2010.
I have read numerous postings on Calibration and people sending their camera in for calibration.
Is this calibration software or hardware related? Can the camera be taken into a local store to have done, or does it require to be shipped to Canon directly. Is this covered under warranty? and those that have done it, was there a significant improvement? Please share your info. FOC for in-warranty?
Thank you all in advance for your help!!!
to me 17-55mm could be the best crop zoom lens for crop body. but it does not mean u can't get good pic with kits lens. below photo using 18-55mmHi,
I just upgraded from SX20 to 500D a couple of months ago, loving it for my first DSLR.
Here's a recent photo of mine with a little HDR PP to it.

Btw, is there any 500D users with the 17-55 lens ? Hoping to see some sample photos![]()
500D is great Dslr, there are better one but this is able to do alot of wonder with photo. unless you have budget, this cam is decent to keep. or the newer model 550Dopps! missed out the 's' at e back of basic. ;p
it teached me alot. gonna pass it to my bro when i get my new body.
definitely gonna miss e smaller feeling of XXXD when i changed.
Yeah!! most probably i will change to FF and not change every couple of years or so.
Thanks for the suggestion.
