I think "built in focus motor" is for Nikon system.

For Canon, the focus motor should be in the lenses, not the bodies.

thanks man, i just called earlier to 1 of the vendors. they were mentioned some sensor in the camera body itself and then the motor in the camera. I was told most brands of camera are moving in this direction due to user preference.

All are good cameras. What you should be considering is the type of photography you do or intend to do and the lenses that match those needs. Then look at the offerings from both Canon and Nikon and see which is better and which fits your budget. A good site to evaluate lenses (and cameras) is Photozone dot com.

I will wait for the upcoming IT show and see whats canon official free gifts, then head down to funan TK photo or SLR-R to get the DSLR

Usually cheaper and comes with the same free gifts as IT show.

Out of those 3 you have mentioned, D7000 has much more features than 600D and D5100. Of course the price is much higher too, so unfair to compare it with the other 2.

You were right. I kenna the BBB virus. Within 1 week in using 600D i sold it and bought the 60D. Bought Kata bag, bought filters. Now aiming for 580 EX II or the Nissin 866 mark II. Wah sian

I too was considering between the 600D & 60D. Prices were quite similar 600D body only at slightly below 1k, 60D at slightly above 1.2k. Same free gifts like bags, tripod, 8th card. In the end I just bite the bullet and went for 60D but kinda hope I went for 600D instead..
