Hi all, I'm not yet familiar with dslr accessories. Is the dry cabinet worth the extra $$ to pay for the 600D package at Canon booth at IT Show compared to shops @ Funan/SLS ? Or I'll be better off getting the dry cabinet separately?

Yes definitely worth to get.Abit of money to pay for the safer way to store ur $1k+ investment.But frankly speaking, they will give u the smallest dry cabi @ the show which is a 30l and this is something u will outgrow once u start buying the lens and accessories..

So IMHO, get the set outside the show and purchase a bigger capacity dry cabi..

You can purchase extended warranty from Canon just 1 month before the expiry of the given warranty which is currently at 12+3 months for online registration.

Eg;

Set purchase in 12th Mar 11, given warranty with additional 3 months for online registration ends on 11th June 12, u must purchase the extended warranty by 11th May 12 latest..The last check with them for my 50D body is $230 for 2 years.Should be roughly the same across the board.

Went down to IT show just now and talked to sales people at both level 1 and level 4. Both refused to let me have further discounts if i forfeit all the gifts and they cannot help me change the gifts offered as well. Bad luck??

Anyway, I called TK Foto and they said stocks not in. Therefore, I'm not sure if the price reflected earlier is representative of TK Foto's stance. SLR Rev also said they will quote only when stocks are in.

Can anyone provide any other alternatives? :S

I suppose the only alternative is to sell the freebies at BNS yourself (which i intend to do so as well...)

Intend to sell the tripod and cabinet away, bag wise see if wifey likes it or not

Bad luck?? Hardly cos stocks for package is exact or what we called bundled..So even by forfeiting all the freebies, u still pay the same price..

Price i've given early is provided by a fren who works @ TK..

She did mention stocks for their shop would be coming in today..I just sms again to ask..

Read from (http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/T3I/T3IA.HTM) that 600D uses the same battery and battery grip as 550D. Great to know Canon is not "inventing" new batt and batt grip.... ;P

for rebel series, 1 model of BG usually will be used by 2 model. I suppose 650D will have a new BG again.

Is the srp for body only $1399 or $1199? Canon.sg's site seems to suggest $1199 body only. If this is the case then with the PPP will result in a cost of ~$963!

Share w brothers here. Ppp prices at harbourfront. $1151 for kit 1. $1438 for kit 2. Compute the same discount off rrp for body alone if u want. Free gifts only std gifts as per canon, not IT show gifts, so only 8gb sd card and ef workbook, crumpler is online registration so shld haf.

I just ordered mine at hf. Do note, got to wait a few days, so when i collect, the gifts that canon offer online will b what i am getting.

You do ur sums, see if u want IT show gifts, tk shop std package or PPP direct w canon at hf. Cheers!

Ps. With the 200 plus i saved, buying a 48lt dry cabinet from mass sales forum. Aipeo brand i think.
