I want to ask for quotes from orient photo before actually going there, heard that their stuffs are cheaper and service also good. but can't find their phone number in forum.

anyone please tell me? thanks in advance! :)

Orient Photo Pte Ltd
Telephone : 63391035

Heard so much about Orient Photo at SLS...
Are they that good price-wise and service standards?

What can I find there?

Before you buy anything from OP, I would strongly suggest that you do your homework first. Don't just listen to what people said, etc.

Some lenses prices are the same as Cathay Photo, etc but what distinguish between them is one sells grey set while the latter sells warrantied set. Therefore, the choice is yours.

So 'Gray Sets' are without warranty?
:what:

I'm wondering how much will OP sell the Tamron 18-200mm lens...?

Shop Warranty i would say..
anything wrong within the 1st year, go back to them directly.. (same policy as TCW..)

Hmmm... thanks..
Sounds interesting....

Must I brush up on my Mandarin before visiting OP??

you can use english as your primary language for communication..
the lady working there has a decent command of english :)

the men, on the other hand, can understand you if you use a mixture of english and chinese. just drop by their store or call them directly for a quote.. it wont cost you an arm or leg from asking.

Now a days, good service and good price shops are HARD to come by in Singapore...
Hope OP is really good...

:)

:what:

Yes, all their stuff are grey but come with 1 year shop warranty.

But the question is if Cathay Photo is selling a lens at $780, and Orient Photo is also selling at $780, which one would you buy? Do you prefer a piece of warranty card so that you can go to Canon Service Centre for servicing if anything goes wrong or send the lens back to the shop and let them do the necessary? Therefore, like what I have said - the choice is yours, i.e. up to individual preference.

Another thing to take note, not all their stuff are cheap, so do your homework first. Just because someone mentioned it is cheap, does mean that it applies to everyone.

Hmm ..ok, noted.. and thanks.
:D

Hmm.. guess I'll just pop by OP later and see what its all about...
... better leave my credit card at home though... :embrass:

Hmm...just been to OP this afternoon, and I Must say... quite exceptional service attitude...
and rather competitive prices! Good thing I left my credit cards at home...

They are like a mini-version of CP; but MUCH friendlier!

Well, as a token I just bought a Cokin P series holder and a 77mm ring for my SIGMA widey.

.. oh and a grey card..

Verdict: NICE shop! Will be there often!

They are very warm i muz say... And they would leave u alone to try their lens, and would gladly give u another few more sets to try and leave u alone. No pressure from them to buy things at all. However they do not have any cameras to let you try out lens... And prices, do ur homework... Nth comes the cheap without any hardwork in the first place.

how much did u pay for the Cokin Pseries holder and the 77mm ring.? ... thinking of getting it too..;)

went to them on friday, got a Sigma 30 f/1.4. allowed me to test 2 different copies, and was pretty helpful!

got the lens, a HOYA HMC filter and a martin strap for my camera. very good price and service i must say!

Well, the wide angle P holder was $20, and the 77mm ring was $16! :)

But sadly, very limited range of Cokin filters to choose from... :(
I do hope they stock up...

Overall experience at OP is warm...I'll definitely go again...

:D
