Without further embarrasing my little brain.... *brian* Nudges goondoo.....

ok i *think* this is from the Algajidae family.... but then again i may be wrong... i'm getting old recent days.....

As for Strobes, try PM'ing kthan.
Do remember that strobes is another dimension of which you'll need to play with. If you have't used one before. the first few dives will be purely figuring out the functions of the strobes.

I sort of gave a preview on strobe usage some time again at SEED. maybe the person that rent's you the strobe can give you a brief one. :)

Hi jeediver,

you might want to PM Goondoo regarding the proper usage of your camera. He was using your camera for a certain amount of time and he had quite impressive shots, without the use of strobe of course.

Hope that helps.

The Sea Slug ID will have to wait till i get home

he tried, but am away in USA.
Lovells has a set of Ikelite DS50 and ttl wireless sensor which will work with your setup. u can try him.....i.e if he wants to rent out w/o first using it himself

If ur budget is really tight, and u just want to shoot macro, u can get the Epoque DS-150. Less than $400 brand new i think. Don't really like the strobe but Goondoo swears by it. And he has pictures to show too!

Under a new protocol, I will PM u the contact if u wanna get the DS-150 Epoque strobe ;)

huh.... when? I don't even have any impressive shots to date leh.... haha... dun like tat suan me leh, Mr. Ikelite :p

I remember C750 automode quite powerful, even underwater, can shoot very nice picture using auto. Just be careful with your strobe, pictures get burn out very easily.

I was using a Hoya FL-D lense then too. I had nv tried UW white balance with it... maybe you can try...

Hmmm....

You can consider getting a macro len, one good recommendation I was using:

UCL-330 Close-up Lens
"Close-up attachment lens with 330mm focal length and 67mm threaded body for mounting on housings with 67mm threaded port ring, or Inon “M67 Mount Base”. Two high quality optical glass elements in two groups. Wet mountable and stackable underwater for even greater magnification."

hmmmm....

If you don't want to get a strobe, you can consider getting a bigger white LED touch use as aiming light and strobe for macro.

Thats about all liao.

17th sept im diving leh :P project aware weekend leh! :P

i rem beivied told me those nudi are sea hares shot couple of them at tioman.

get the sunpek strobe lah. try www.oceanicfocus.com email them to check the price. quite a good package comes with tray and arm :)

330mm and 165mm whats the difference ah?

er to avoid greenish and bluish picture, get close to your subject, don't zoom in :) 750 got 10x optical zoom hahaha

eh waisj .. wat happen to you ... those are sea hares.. and waisj told me one ... ok la, i dunno the exact species... i dun think they are called nudis though ... they have exposed gills too, but on the side rather than on the back (quoting waisj, hehe)

i would strongly encourage you, jeediver, to take more photos with internal strobe/flash and play around with your camera before you buy strobes... there is a lot more that it can do, and it would be good for you to know your game much better before you hit the next level.. :)

hi goodoo.

wanna take a look at impressive shot esp those using the marco lens 330.
what the tips you have for me using the olympus 750?
manual white balance at what depth and how feq you change your MWB coz i believe that 750 can only save one setting for the white balance.
and filter use? i heard that the eposque 150 is not that good rite? as i dun think i will buy the strobe now coz i dun dive too often? about 8-12 trips/year
not worth the price.. guys what you think of me getting a strobe?

your equipment performs only as good as your skill. The epoque strobe is good enough for alot of shots. pretty powerful too. as a fully manual strobe, it allows the photographer to have plenty of practice, creativity and control over your pictures.

If you ask me , the epoque is good enough for beginners to intermediate photographers.

I use the epoque for all my shots. you can see the results by following my sig.

saw your pics at the link..
the pgyme seahorse was well taken and what lens did you use for your marco?without strobe, using internal flash, my marco pic turn up to be darker
at the lower end as i went nearer to the object... so what do you suggest?
do marco, can i use internal flash? if no flash fired, there will not be any colour. all greenish as i posted above. strobe too ex... any rental available?
sigh..

I only do 3-4 dive trips a year....

Rental typically cost $50-100. Now Assume u get it for $50, 10 trips already $500 spent on rental....must as well buy one.

I am blessed with a strobe not long after I bought the C750, which followed me only on one trip before I sold it off, upgrading to a C5060. I had never tried MWB, but i assume you would need to perform it every 5m. Just bring a slate with you.

Like what my two sifus, Whyzzzzz and Kthan had mentioned, getting a epoque or equivalent strobe is a good option, and 12 trips a year is consider pretty regular liao leh........

piang.. 8-12 trips...

i only do 2 trips this year leh.. 3rd one coming..
you print money ah? :P
