Tough for the folks trying to sell their d600 at anything above 2k..

Wait for price to fall further... $24xx is as good as $2.5K isn't it? :(

Doubt there is any correlation. D610 has still many more native AF lenses and a more reliable AF system. Actually I still think it's the better deal.

I think the impact of a different system is less. But of course those eyeing d610 wld wish there is an impact! :bsmilie:

Good to finally see Nikon putting the wifi and GPS for the D5300 and also a tiltable LCD screen.

Was told that MS color will have d5300 on Mon/Tue.

Saw TK foto posted on their fb page today that the stock for D5300 just came in.

Sigma issues advisory on lens compatibility with Nikon D5300
At dpreview:
Sigma has posted a statement on its website regarding incompatibilities between its lenses and the Nikon D5300. Lenses with built-in focus motors may not autofocus correctly in Live View mode, and Optical Stabilisation (OS) may not work correctly. The company says it will provide a free firmware update for affected lenses to fix the issue, but this may not be possible with discontinued models.

Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 cannot auto-focus on Live View mode in d5300. Tamron 70-300mm f4-5.6 VR can.
No problem with d5100.

In case of the 18-35mm f/1.8 you can just update the firmware yourself fortunately.

Thanks,Ageha. Don't think Sigma has released the firmware for the 18-35mm f1.8 yet to overcome this problem with the d5300. Don't seem to be able to locate it.
BTW, the latest Adobe RAW Update 8.3 for CS6 can read the RAW files of the d5300 although it is a beta version.

Yeah, they didn't release it so far but yesterday they announced they will make a firmware update available soon and you will be able to update it with the USB dock.
