Noob Question On Adjusting Shutter Speed On Nikon FM

Hi:

I recently bought my first film SLR, a Nikon FM. Having used to modern DSLRs, I find that it is rather hard to change the shutter speed while looking through the viewfinder. The shutter dial is not positioned near the edge and is partially blocked by the film advance level. I am unable to change the TV using my thumb.

Can anyone kindly share your making TV adjustments on an Nikon FM?

practice is probably the best way. it's a matter of getting used to it.

for me, when i change the shutter speed, i use my thumb and index finger. once you get the hang of it, you can change it pretty fast and instinctively

Same method for me too. FM2n user. I think that's the most common and direct method.

Strange, I much prefer the heavy clicking than silent spinning of shutter speed. Must be 'course I started with mechanical -> digital. Hah.

Thanks guys, will practice more to get the hang of it. :)
