i'm going for a 350D 1st choice (if I can get a new one for the right price) and if I can't, I'll go for a d70 2nd hand..

and another thing, (ok this might sound noob-ish but pls bear with me LOL) how long does a dSLR normally last? I know it's kind of a subjective question but say if I were to get a 2 and 1/2 year old D10, I wouldn't want it to just last a year and then start to spoil. hahaha..
I don't have the answer, but I would think it has more to do with shutter count rather than length of time. For example a 1-yr old cam with 10k shutter count would probably fail sooner than a 2-yr old cam with only 5k shutter count.
Or I may be completely wrong?:embrass:
Can anyone share what is the highest shutter count and/or number of years for a cam you've owned before?

finally I decided to get a canon 350D! (2nd hand from a fellow forum-er) started using it and loved it lots!! haha AND the grip is just fine.. no complains! =)
