Non-coded Lens on M8

I'm new on the M8, What material effect or difference does it make to use the earlier M non-coded lenses on the M8? I am asking for the reason whether I should get the M8 considering I only have the 28mm Elmarit , 35/50mm Summicron non-coded lenses presently (which of course were all used on my M6):nono:.
