Noctilux Shots

BTW the sample photos shown by hacker on the 50 f1 at f1 are impressive indeed. However they are not really crispy sharp (too low a shutter speed used?) other than the shot with the 2 girls.

Naughtylux at f1 is never crispy sharp. That's reason, I keep complaining to Hacker that shots of 2 girls does not have the Naughtylux look.:bsmilie:

I will try to take some unsharp pictures next Monday or Tuesday.;)

Thanks, Hacker. Love these 2 shots.:):)

Hacker, for some strange reason, seems like the reflection off the table seems a tad sharper then the subjects themselves :) Nice shots dude.

Yap, same feeling, but have not figure out why.

I wish I could own a Noctilux. For the moment I make do with my Canon 50mm/f1.2 LTM.

And I use it for family shots too, like this one of my son :

how difficult or easy to focus at f1.0? what about using at smaller aperture? Understand that the turning on the focusing ring is longer than other lenses. wouldn't that slow things down?

It's not difficult after you've gotten use to it. Personally, I use my Noct only at f1.0. First for its unique rendering/drawing. Secondly, you can use any f1.4 lens which may be easier to use & smaller in size. Of course, the Noct can be used as a "normal" 50mm. In fact, when stopped down to f4.0-5.6, it is actually quite a sharp lens. Yes, it has a long focus throw to allow more precise focussing for its narrow DOF.

Does anyone have a shot with the Noct wide open, under a low light situation?
Appreciate very much if you can share...

In May I posted in this thread that I wished I had a Noctilux. Well, that wish came true. Picture of my wife and son.

Congrats on getting the lens!

An update to this thread all shot wide open @ f/1:

Here is one I took today at 125sec ISO160 f1.0. For comparison, I took the same shot with a 35mm Lux at 60sec ISO160 f1.4. Which is which?

Er.. first picture looks more compressed. Might be taken with the 50mm. Second picture's perspective looks wider. Should be taken with 35mm.

So this set is limit or just 4 double? Cannot see got flower or not.

Cheers,

i would have guessed picA: 50mm and picB: 35mm based on the compression of the bg too.
