Words online can be misleading as one can never sense the tone of voice.
We are all for constructive comments and crits, that is why we are asking the experts like yourself to give us some tips to make our works better.

i ish no expert, i just talk a lot in clubsnap..

is ok, whatever floats your boat, i don't really care :dunno:

Back to the drawing board, guys!

For good angles and DI, maybe can consider viewing Vivian's works on the FF7 series on this very same sub-forum, can learn a lot from her, cheers :)

your talk is louder than the pictures.

shouldn't the reverse be the effect you're hoping to achieve?

Wow! It seems like you are very experienced in this field please care to share on your ideas on how we can make our snapshots look professional?

Read more, see more, listen more and most important, shoot more, the snapshots will become professional..
(i wanted to say talk less but i think its a bit rude :bsmilie:)

You mentioned in the other thread you wanted to go into digital imaging professionally...
To be frank, those "digital effect" that you have shown, for "play play" still can.. but i doubt anyone will want to engage your service based on those sample.. anybody with a little knowledge of photoshop will know how to do that. When you look back at these images few years down the road (or maybe few months later), you will know what I mean..
But of course, i am not discouraging you, everybody must go through this stage...

There are a few very good digital imaging artists in clubsnap.. one of them is clown (james).. his website is http://www.lateral-i.com/

This is the kind of professional digital imaging that the market need, not just simply playing with curves, saturation, filters, adding noise....

So ......lets move on :bsmilie:

i think the photos are not too bad at all. sure doesn't look like "lousy trash" to me. it's good to experiment with your own creative concepts, and it's instructive to note that one man's meat is another man's poison. for example, henri cartier-bresson's photos were dismissed as "snapshots" in his day, but now they are regarded as masterpieces in street photography. similarly, william egglestone had his own share of brickbats who were dismissive of his ordinary colour "snapshots" that have now established him as the father of colour photography. i think you can be even more experimental in posing and in facial expressions, no need to have eye contact with the photog in most frames. would also be interesting to see a less tight framing in the composition for some of the images. as someone has mentioned earlier, i do like the lighting for the last two pics. keep shooting, and don't be put off by worrying too much about equipment (or the lack thereof).

I beg to differ, precisely because no one is doing it that is why i am developing myself towards this direction.

Thank you so much for the encouragement.
We started out with a similar ideology and we are making it a reality.
We will continue to develop and experiment :)

Its good to be different, but the direction must be correct..make sure you are doing something different that other people cannot achieve.. instead of moving backward, doing something so fundmental and tell people you are different....

Its not that no one do, its everybody also can do.. only those people who know nothing much about photoshop will find it impressive...

To put it simple, whatever you are doing is what the basic photoshop course will teach you.. If you think this is somthing very advance and very difficult to achieve.. then.. err..i dunno what to say..

Anyway, have fun exploring...

I think we're being abit too harsh...

Averal, take a look at Paolo Roversi's work to get a sense of mood and texture. you might be interested to know too that the effects he gets isn't through Photoshop

I hope to see more work from you guys, we all learn with each shoot

Sure... btw i LOVE YOUR WORK !!!
