The reaching of 200th photo posted does not mean much in photographic sense, compared to the shutter counts of the cameras sold in BnS, 200 is a baby figure. However, this 200 includes the blood, toils and tears (actually more of perspiration rolling down my eyes) and the enjoyment I have derived in the process. I've also been to areas of Singapore which I've not really explored, and discovered along the way new places to eat and makan places lost and found. Besides that, I am also grateful to many whom I have learned so much from. As I share with people, I took 1 and a half year off from photography, from the point when I initially bought it. I had looked at many threads here, many photos in flickr and other places. Every photo I've looked at, taught me something. I'm also grateful to have had the help of many here who have taught me a thing or two or many many things about making images and processing them and am glad to have made new friends from photography.

There is still so much to learn and I wouldn't say I have a long way to go because the process of learning, you could say, is an infinite process. If there is no end-point that can be defined, it is so difficult to use a finite term "long" to define an infinite process. In a society which focused so much on results, the enjoyment of the process of learning and celebrating the process of learning something new even if one is still not very good at it, is often underrated and forgotten.

Nice series you have here!

Single RAW exposure and black card technique used to control highlights. Was reading the thread on black card technique in Pentax sub-forum in here and was tempted to use black card again having tried it once or twice.

Made this shot on Saturday while walking around CBD area. The light was good and after some walking about, took this handheld. I've got no telephoto lens at the moment, but after this, I'm thinking of getting one. :bsmilie:

Reworked

Shining guide for the sea traffic

I noticed how the light will reflect off the glass panes on the lighthouse to give a 'starburst' effect like those you see on night shots. But had to lean out of the railing to get this shot and by handholding the camera.

Thanks to edutilos for pointing out about the foreground. Always appreciate having some feedback as I always overlook something somewhere somehow.

Hope it is better now, still having some problem with judgement of light hierarchy.

Focused on getting the looks natural and maintaining the proper light hierarchy. Deliberately allowed the left to be slightly over-exposed to maintain the natural look and show the direction of light. It would seem strange to allow the entire sky to be evenly exposed, and rather unnaturally so, as there was a storm approaching from the right while it was bright and shiny on the left. Contrary to the previous version, this version has no interpretation of the lighthouse and the starburst as being the guiding object/light for sea traffic, with the exclusion of the boat in the framing.

On another note, this is one of the least processed shots ever. It was done in a minute and almost straight out of camera.
