Nissin DI866 MKII help

It can be as simple as the Camera was in Av mode. Many people are ignorant that flash does not work in Av mode. One of my expert photographer friend was surprised when I told him about Av mode.

That's odd. I have been shooting in Av mode even for my flash. Just did so in fact. Seems to work leh.

yup my canon dslr works with the flash in av mode.

Firing flash does not mean it's working. Let me explain

Based on your f stop and ISO setting, shutter speed is calculated in Av mode. In Av mode, camera ignores flash effect .. so even the flash is mounted and ON, the shutter speed completely ignore that.

You get quite erratic results if you fire quick shots. I myself experienced that few years back and then googled to learn more!!

I guess lens manual/booklet (which we never read!!) also clearly mention that ..)

Hi bros, recently my nissin 866 mkII flash gun have some issues, when mounted on 5DII it fires but the image turn out like there is no flash.

Any bros know whats wrong? TIA

I had same problem with a non Canon flash.

Go to Menu Function Settings,
click Live View/Movie
click Silent Shooting
click Disable

Try it
