1. If you are asking questions on this forum about compressed and uncompressed video, most likely you're still a newbie. In this case, forget about sophistication like the BMC and stick with any camcorder you can find. MTS will be a good place to begin your learning curve. Learn to shoot and light properly, master the principles of photography. And while you're on this journey, learn to transcode MTS files to Prores for editing if you like. There are apps out there that can do good quality transcodes; try 5DtoRGB, it's a great software.
2. If you are just starting out, forget about shooting RAW. Storage alone will kill you, and the colour logs and LUTs will be too steep a learning curve for now.
3. Black Magic Camera is great if you have already secured a working budget for your pipeline. For a BMC to be up and running, you need to set aside at least SGD$8k(body alone+selected SSDs+ext bats+BM customised grip handle). Compare this with a Ninja v2, coupled with a hacked GH2 and some primes. $8k can get you quite a few good setup for TV and broadcast work where a GH2 is concerned.
