Nikon to announce 3 new DX DSLRs and at least 2 new lenses this year

well for DX range we dont really have a 85mm( in full frame format) which is not available in any 3rd party or nikkor lens. other than that i think they cover most DX range
I know they are not equivalents, but we already have:

The 40mm DX macro lens
4 different 50mm FX primes lens
4 different 85mm FX primes lens
1 85mm DX macro lens

I wonder if a 60mm f/1.4 makes business sense?

Just use a 50mm you will get something close to a FX 85mm

Nokia? Indestructible lenses? :bsmilie:

In soviet Russia floors don't break nokias. Nokias break floors.

24mm f/1.8g please..
Or 18mm f/1.8g ....

..........

I would like a light portable 400mm f4 VR like what Canon has.

Nikon is still missing a DX wide prime. Sure, they have DX UWA zooms, but these offer little more (or even less) than cheaper third party alternatives (Tokina 11-16 F2.8, Tokina 12-24 F4, Sigma 10-20, Sigma 8-16, Tamron 10-24).

I support a 16/1.8G DX (or 18 or 24 would be fine too - build specifically for DX bodies so they are cheaper too), but I highly doubt Nikon is going to design any DX wide primes.

10.5

Hehe ;) :bsmilie: Its still a prime!

But it's a fisheye. Yeah, you can use some software to de-fish the image, but I'm talking about creating a normal image out of camera. There is no wide prime available for DX. Sony NEX has the 16mm f2.8 (whether or not it performs well is another story); I'm wondering why Canon and Nikon haven't made a UWA prime for crop cameras yet (excluding fisheye)

i was about to buy a D7000.....I'm thinking otherwise now, kinda happy someone brought it to my attention in a post i made, then i stumbled across this one..

I guess you guys would agree I might well wait if I'm not in a rush? I have 9 months before I leave to New Zealand..! So providing it's released before then (and maybe some time for practice before i leave.!)..

I'm wishing for a DX 16 - 85mm constant f2.8 with nano coat.. Lolx :p

Actually I need a 2.8mm lens with f2.8

wonder if they'd come up with an update for the 24-70 f/2.8 lens to add on VR?

High on people's wish list. But since the latest incarnation of the 24-70mm f2.8 just announced by Canon also no IS, I very much doubt if Nikon will do it.

However, Tamron is coming up with one (http://www.dpreview.com/news/2012/02/06/tamron24-70_2p8_divcusd). And I can't wait to see the reviews on that one.

Tamron SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD (Model A007)

See the photo: 70mm focal length at 1/30 sec. Impressive!
