Actually, it is a problem, I want everybody to get a chance at it, and it's very sad that I cannot accomodate everybody's presence for the workshop.

And now GE is on it's way, I'm praying very hard it doesn't clash with GE.

i was about to say that too, prediction that the GE is at the first 2 weeks of may.... hopefully not on 13th may

Crossing my fingers... :embrass: Hope it will not clash, else I don't know when will be a good date to set as all my speakers all very busy :(

Looks like THE NATIONAL EVENT is quite destructive to a lot of events huh.

(Just wondering why events couldn't go ahead anyway. Most ppl don't work on Public Holidays anyway)

ok... granted dat. then, there are still people who needs to vote, if there's a GE on dat day. not everyone lives in a walk-over ward, u know...

That's why I am just wondering and not suggesting.

I can be for sure my area will go uncontented and nw75 has listed my fears exactly.

My suggestion is to start in the afternoon, and end later if nobody has any concerns. :)

let's hope that it's not that weekend lor ... if suay suay ... let see how's many of us will need to draw cross lor

.... maybe the polling start very early ... then can poll then go ... start slightl;y later will do ....

I know, but like I said... it might cause major problems for those who need to...just crossing fingers...

ahh...so very late. Please include me, D200 user.

Alternatively, (I didn't read the entire thread) you can find a bigger auditorium and satisfy more people? I understand there's going to be way less hands on equiptment to go around, but at least you can fit more people. Just a suggestion.

Maybe Vesak Day (12th May) is a good day for GE?

cannot be. It will not clash with major days, as those involved will be busy pray pray-ing.

Hi ESPN,

I can see form the listthat my name is registered into the 27 May Batch.

How do i make payment to you?

Is the venue same as the orignal.

Thanks

I agree too. GE will never clash with a public holiday. The government got to take into considerations that pple have already planned for the long wkend getaway. Anyway, if they step into the pple's life, guess who will get the most votes at the GE? haha

Hi Lush,

Finding an external location means higher costs + more logistics to handle. I can get chngpe01 to rent his MPH at his place, but the place is ultra far and I don't want my helpers to be stacking up the chairs & cleaning up the area after you folks left :)

Yes, the last portraiture outing my helpers had to stay back all the way to help stack chairs back, sweep the floor and clean up the area. And of course they were treated to a sumptous dinner by sykestang @ Thomson Road  We had car pool from Chngpe01 (moderator World of Nature), Nikon SG Sales rep to Thomson.

My main goal in organising this is to share knowledge, I'd skip the S$10 if I could but for a few reasons I need to collect some funds:

  • 01 x Model - Need to pay the model cannot expect her to be doing it FOC :)
  • Ensure that people do not register and don't appear. Experience from the D2X launch, whereby 85 people CS signed up, but less than half turned up.
  • Misc costs that might occur as well.

Last year we ran into deficits actually, but it was fun to see everybody picking up some skills in ways or sort, and the lucky fellas that walked away with the sponsored prizes by Nikon too

This year the location was chosen to be at Nikon SG itself as personally I wanted to be the first to use the auditorium officially :bsmilie: and also to save the effort in sourcing for a location.

I hope all of you can understand my predicament & logistics. It's pretty tough to get everything organised and to make everybody happy.

At least I know I had near 80% of the 40 last year that went for the portraiture outing happy? (I hope this figure is correct)

Heee.

regards,

espn

p/s: I'm in no way affiliated with Nikon Singapore nor what I say represent the intentions of Nikon Singapore. Sorry for conclusions derived otherwise.

Let me settle the logistics + guest stars for 27th May first. I'm having problems finding replacement speakers + shi-fus. :(

*gasp*... then why is there a table at NSG with ur name on it? :what:

nw go hide one corner...

seriously tho... in last yr's portraiture workshop, we were thankful dat NSG sponsored the transport, and the speakers last yr did not want to be paid (esp for Clown, cos he's a full-time DI artist). else, we would be in deficit cos the amt collected went to the hiring of models. likewise for this year (keep fingers cross and hope no GE). PE, papilio and watcher have kindly volunteered to be our speakers, all for our learning benefit. :)

as espn mentioned, the organisers cannot gurantee the 2nd run of this workshop cos of the availability of speakers, as much as we like to. hope everyone understands this. :embrass:

I'll try my best to make the 2nd workshop go.

Meanwhile, trying to decide the lunch menu ;p
