Nikon Promotion @ IT Show

I already bought yesterday ;p didn't really try lah... just pay and go. Just that no time to play with my set at home until next week.

Canon printers off colour? which model? You probably need to use better paper even if it is the high-end models. Personal feedback.

Sorry typo, I meant to Epson side and print, not Canon, all A3 prints, probably they never process the images, that's why.

I was given a spare batt, hand grip on top of the freebies that the poster advertised. may i noe what other additional gifts that lords gave when those of u guys purchase the D70 kit set for 1988?

are you guys given any cleaning kit or any other stuff? If yes i must go and find james liao.

Btw i spent total of $1947 at the IT show on d70 body(w/o kit, sold it to other ppl), 50 1.8mm lens+filter, i-cabi 30L dry box($99) + the additional freebies the loards throw in...2 1GB sandisk UII cards, hand grip, tripod, lowepro bag, 123 elearning cd, non original spare batt.

so is it a gd deal??

Geerrrrrrrrr... I bought on the first day cos cannot tahan to grap the D70 liao.... then ppl bought on the last day got more freebie like spare batt lah, filter lah, extra handgrip lah.. even scare you carry many things and later went out raining.. free umbrella some more.. :cry:

like that not consistence sale liao... next time every ppl will rush to it on the last day liao.. best still last hour..

well, what else can I say.. forget it and go out shoot more!! :bsmilie:

Just FYI, the additional free gifts were NOT from Nikon SG, they were given FOC by the dealer themselves.

The gifts on the brochure were by Nikon SG, anything additional were by the dealers themselves.

It's a very well known fact (having been helping out there a few times in computer/camera fairs) that towards the end to avoid bringing back excess stock (transportation costs) they will try to sell everything ASAP, including extra freebies.

I know, because the filters, batteries were all given away FOC. Trust me on this. Nikon did their share on the 2 1GB & bag & vest & tripod & eLearning CD & 70-300mm & 67mm NC.

Tested out the D70 + kit lens with aperture f8 and above. Seems like light falloff significantly lesser but still present until f11. Any of you guys got this problems?

Err...this has been happening in many exhibitions for some products (not only cams), since like 10 years ago? It's a very well known "secret".

Sunday....it was so jam packed even on the roads. I was just trying to eat some Sushi at Funan and even 500-1000m away from Suntec it was jammed. If anyone wants to save like 50-100 bucks for this, well its his/her own free wish lor. The worst thing gonna happen is if they announce that the cam is out of stock, when you finally managed to squeeze to the booth at 7pm.

A well known secret .... but seems like this show not as crowded as before on the last day.... probably everyone scared later jam....lol.... anyway.... my last day sales is always abt the same to total of first 3 days....lol... so infuture...wait for the last day then decide.... no harm ...lol...no need last hr... last day is good enuff

2100 is right, it's a common sales practise. in addition to clearing stocks to reduce the hassle of transporting it back, it's also sometimes also due to competition at the same venue.

anyway, there is of course a downside, you run the risk that it will be out of stock. which was the case with a thumbdrive i wanted to buy at a 4th day low price.
