In fact, I'm planning on sticking with the D700 and probably a used 50mm 1.4 prime for the time being....I need low light performance....If there ain't no replacement any time soon, I'll make the move...:devil:

That's also my first configuration. But currently got another 2nd hand mid-zoom len ( 24 to 85 mm F3.5 to F4.5 ).

I was thinking after the 50mm, it'll be the 12-24 or 70-200....These 3 lenses should suffice imo...

Should be 14-24 for FX. Yeah, I was also thinking of that but they are not cheap.
And the weight of those good lenses are usually heavy.

14-24, 24-70, 70-200 ===> That's will cover most of what you can take.

You may want to consider 17-35mm or cheap 18-35mm instead of this 14-24mm monster as the diameter is like 98mm:eek: and it's not easy take any filters at all if you are those who uses GND or CPL.

From wat I know now the 17-35mm f2.8 cost more than 14-24mm f2.8. I was targeting 17-35mm also but I think I just wait for new lens news.

nice body!!!

The first thing that caught my eye was there is no pop-up flash, thus tot the body will be in the same league as D3.

Anyway, looking forward to the announcement. Hope it's a new body. ;p

My goodness, why is the majority of people talking about new bodies?!?!?!

We should be far more concerned with the line of lenses with we have as it pales in comparison to Canon's lineup.

Canon has an impressive lineup of lens, enough for them to fully concentrate on making better bodies now.

But Nikon, though I'm a fervent supporter of them, is still behind in terms of lenses.

Now what I'm hoping for, is no more II's of current lenses but totally new lenses, especially primes where Canon is hitting us hard.

hamanoshun is correct.
Nikon's body is good enough , where at least for now in ISO department it still wins the Canon.
But the lenses are quite lacking especially variety of fast primes.

If you look at the body from the link given, you will realise that the grip is integrated. Bottom of the grip also has the small LCD where you can change the ISO, QUAL, and WB (in the D3 series).

Thus, you are looking at something more than a D700 (IF its a new body), unless of course Nikon has decided that semi-pro bodies should also feature built in grips. To me, it looks like a D3x with a new lens... people said 16-35mm f/4 VR.. along with a 24mm f/1.4.... see how?

It IS a 14-24 f/2.8
I don't know why some said it's going to be a new lens when clearly it's so obviously a 14-24:dunno:

Maybe they will release more PnS ~ :(

They probably used a genuine photo to make a fake poster.....

Please an AFS 85mm f1.8 under 550... i'll be a good boy...

definitely the price will never be at under 550 SGD for an AFS 1.8 lens :nono:
its 9th Feb. . . what good deal will Nikon come out with?
