Think most D700 are a satisfied lot ... me included. Just hope for FX lenses ... it's abt time

I've had a short go at a friend's D700 and was blown away by the high ISO performance and solid build quality...Told myself I had to get one until I heard the rumours.....Sometimes, doing research isn't afterall that good...

I wish they come out with FX and DX compatible body with no loss of pixels. 21mb in FX and 21mb in DX. ISO 102400 capable. :lovegrin:

Higher MPs will be good idea than just the current 12MPs. But the price will go up too~~.

It will also be good if Nikon able to introduce promotion for its Nikkor lenses for all ranges...hahaha~~~

The FX just got an upgarde with the D3s and the high-end DX has a D300s.Hmmm...maybe its a mid-level DX replacement(D90),something to go head to head with 7D.

Speculation but I think its a DX camera from the position of the viewfinder eyepiece which is lower in the body. Can't be sure about it though. The teaser pic doesn't have a built-in flash though and it has a rounded eyepiece used in Nikon's pro bodies.

am very satisfied with my 2 DX cameras now and managed to make money out of it.

See no reason to buy FF.

however a 24mm F1.4 is a serious contender should it ever become a reality

Seriously, I don't know why I'm waiting! The itch is killing me! 12MP is more than adequate imo since I'm not making money with my camera by printing 1m by 1m posters...But then again something inside me is telling me to hold on just a little bit more....

Probably a midlife product revitalization will help since its been some time the D700 last came out and its coming in face of newer competition from Canon? I don't know from the marketing point of view since I've got no values or data of their sales nor am I a specialist in this field......I just hope that as my first DSLR, I can get something that's a get it and forget about it affair.

Anyway, I am just a hobbyist & find that a D700 is really on the extreme end for a hobbyist.
No point upgrading to a D3s as I am not using it to earn money.

In fact, I'm planning on sticking with the D700 and probably a used 50mm 1.4 prime for the time being....I need low light performance....If there ain't no replacement any time soon, I'll make the move...:devil::devil:
