I got a bad n good experience at the IT show =)

Bad Experience
1) I asked a young chap if I could try the lens, then he say no... IT show where got try one? Just buy coz ppl know it's good and cheap and try to push the 18-200 VR to me, saying how good it is and that whole Singapore no stock -_-"

Of cOz, I just smile and walked away to look at the Nikon gals

2) I asked another guy if i can get the hand grip, which he replied NO! Only if you buy camera, then ask me to buy -_-"

Good Experience
1) I was walking along the payment counter when I saw the hand grip. I just asked the sales uncle there if it's available for sale, which he said YES... $45! Limited edition. Only for IT Fair.

Next I asked if I can try the 50mm 1.8f, which he took out of the display immediately just to let me try. And of coz, he noticed I'm using D40, which can't AF with the 50mm and reminded of that so that I won't waste $$$.

So in the end, due to his good service, I bought the 50mm and the hand grip and got a free Nikon Cloth =)

So fellow frds, go directly to the point of sales! The ppl there know their stuff and are more frdly! Especially if you walk around with a Nikon Cam =)

Hey i'm interested to know also, cheaper than stores? :P

lotus fairy, i suggest u consider buying a 2nd hand tripod. functionality does not drop with a used tripod. you hardly require the warranty service. and most of all, manfrotto price has increased. at most you get some wearing off signs on friction area but that does not really matter. unlike electronics, tripods and good bags can last a long time.

Aiyah! she (same as myself) wants the $99 Manfrotto 190 (including head). 2nd hand (even if is 1 yr old) where got this type of price? For my part, I'm not crazy about the limited edition thingy, just the tripod. If someone sells me the tripod at that price but wants to exchange for a regular 190, I'm more than willing to exchange.

Sorry for the late reply.

As stated by brother ahgus, it's going for $175.00.

Got quite a good deal imho =)

Quick Quick! Last day tml!

Grab yr 50mm 1.8f

simply because they are only getting commission from camera sets...
the sales ppl dont get anything from you buying the grip..
If i were there i will even tell u go buy outside :bsmilie:

Well, the quote prices over there are for those who uses card to pay (and installment too):o
Unlike shops, who usually add abt 3-5% on top of their quoted prices.
Correct me:think: if Im wrong:dunno:

Haha i think the 53mm UV Filter is available at most places for $10? Lens Pouch? For which Lens? I don't think I will be able to advise coz I'm like only 1 mth into the DSLR World?

Would more experience Nikkon Brothers wanna help out?

i'm looking for the 52mm lens pouch....
y didn't they sell the uv filter at the it show..
can make it easier for lens buyers....
;)

Lens pouch for which lens? Different lens got different diameter and length and thus different size.

If Nikon lens then it would have come in the packaging. Not sure about other makers cos i haven bought any third party yet.

As for filter...can get from cathay or alan photo or TK photo. They range from cheap ones made by Hoya for about 10 bucks to 100+ for a high end B&W. If it is a good lens u wanna use it on..then buy a good one.

1. if they bring in filter, it will be too messy with some many different diameter, brand, coating grade... etc...
