Nikon @ IT Fair

thanks!! it ready easy n good view to see wat to buy...

cheers all

hehe ... I am actually the 2nd buyer for D7000 at IT fair.
Caught up between D300s and D7k ... instinct told me to go for the latest though not the greatest.
I am not a big fan of the 50f1.8 and kit lens ... 50mm is long for DX camera.

This is my first dsrl .. so all those freebies are in fact very useful to me.
esp the dry cab, kata bag ... i dunno why they gave out the nikon luggage ... its built quality is quite poor.

actually i find the Nikon trolley-luggage pretty useful... Can store my printers, routers, transmitters, papers, etc etc, for a day's shoot. haha...

The 50mm is a great portrait lens on DX.

Lol, ask for pwop (purchase without purchase).

Jokes aside, I find the $599 pwp price for SB900 a little disappointing compare to the $199 previously. Though this time, it extends the pwp to ALL DSLR. Wondering if we can PWP at nikon service center by producing receipt?

If I am not wrong, the $199 PWP the other time is for SB600.

is the optional SB900 from the IT fair for 599sgd a good buy?

I finally bought the D7000 after much deliberation and contemplating between
the D300s...:)

Bought the body only with all the freebies offered plus got an extra HOYA 52mm UV filter for $1999/-

Made use of the 0% installment plan but no other cash off (discount) for this option..

Yes it is. It retails for around mid 600s.

You can buy a grey set for around 580 but no Nikon warranty.

Personal pt of view...
Advantages of buying dslr at IT fair..
1. You get to buy from a Nikon distributor, not worrying about grey or import set.
2. Plenty of free gift which you can even sell it almost instantly.

My d7k shutter count is zero at the point of purchase :-)

the D90 plus 18-200mm looks like a good buy. Around 1k for body and 1k for lens include freebies like cabinet

There are pros and cons to different approaches. And different people like to do it differently.
