Nikon Filters

Not true...I am using Nikon NC and Nikon CPL2....and very happy with it :thumbsup:

Tat's probably why you see not many peolpe talk about it...because seriously there is nothing much to comment because they are so good :sweatsm:

Agree with you. But my point was, while some other parties specialized on building an almost perfect filter, they don't make a specific filter for specific brand, do they? I mean, we're often try to compare (for example) Nikon lenses and Canon or Tamron or Sigma, one is better than the other in terms of IQ, bokeh, etc etc. If I were the 3rd party filter producer, i will make one very good filter for all lenses. This would mean - probably - I have to do some "trade-off" on building this filter to compliment all lenses at the same time. Example, if I put more "A" then using it with Nikon will be good, but bad with Tamron. If I put more "B" using it with Nikon will screw up the image.

Assuming above, Nikon filter should be the better choice for Nikon lens - as well as Canon filter for Canon lenses, because the filter is designed specifically to compliment their own lenses (Nikon won't bother to build good filter for Canon lenses, don't you think?)

Aiya...if need a filter just go and buy one...don't need to be so analytical, they are merely just filters only...

Based on your signature, I do not see that you hold any pro-lenses...therefore, whether you use brand x, y or z, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

My advice is, go for the cheap one. Work on the art of photography. And when you show us your photo, nobody will ask what filter you use huh??!!

Yes I don't own any pro-grade lens or body, and being a newbie myself - wondering around in newbie area (forum) - most people there suggests B+W or Hoya instead the same brand with our lenses (not talking about UV filters only, but also CPL, Soft, ND, etc etc). This made me wonder.
Understand that there are more on art than just a filter, but sometimes art produced by using filter, agree? Then filters are not just merely a filter (or probably that comment suits myself as newbie).
Agree and thanks to your advice, noone will probably ask what filter that I use but still wondering what makes 3rd party filters preferred than those from their own.
 

Using Both B+W and Nikon NC filters as well.
Couldn't really tell how much difference there are..
Think both are euall good with Nikon NC the more econmical choice.
 

Stopped by to MS Color AMK Hub, no stock of any Nikon filters. Hm....
 

It's true, Nikon NC is harder to clean than B+W . I use NC, B+W, and Hoya SHMC.
My preference is still B+W :)

As often written in this forum, "hard to clean", by means of difficult to wipe out any dirt or finger prints on the filter for example ??

AP Funan last weekend, no stock of NC 62mm for 60mm Micro...
Nikon filters are hot sale or no sale? :think:

IIRC, AP has a "different" strategy of selling filters. They told me once that the NC filter is too expensive so they don't bring it in. They have Vitacon and whatever instead which I don't think are worth it for me.

Forget about AP or even CP.

Try OP you might still able to get . :cool:
 

Got mine at Lords the last time around, if I'm not mistaken. Good place to get Nikon accessories
 

anyone knows how much for B+W 72mm filter ?

Noted. Yeah probably not good for them, business wise. I think, we as customer also "drive" these stores' strategy. When Nikon and B+W are about on the same league (price and quality), we tend to ask for B+W, and at time it's hard to find original Nikon stuffs.
