Yes, with proper defishing, a Fisheye is a good super light and small alternative to an ultra wide angle lens. :)

Just curious, is there any softness, particularly in the edges?

It is actually sharper at the edges in the defished images as compared to fisheyed ones most of the time because all the curved lines are converted into shorter straight ones and also because the image would be slightly cropped at the edge after defishing.

Also removing the vignette on the corner as well, at the same time.

My test shots with Df High ISO.
I'll shoot in either A or M mode with Auto ISO till Hi3 with base iso of L1(iso 50).
The photos are processed with adobe lightroom 5.3 using NEF and just export them for resize the height of photo to 1080pixel.

Thanks for sharing. So now it is double confirmed that at High ISO up to Hi2 (51,200), it is still usable for common use.
Well done Nikon Df !

At ISO Hi3 (102,400), it may require further post processing to remove the noise and recover the detail on the same time.

testing AF-C on the Df.... not too bad i feel considering my boy is cycling towards me at full speed....
AF on head but I think the final 2 shots the focus is on his shirt.... using f1.8 though... lens is not exactly a fast lens also...
