As there is no auto focus, after u zoom in or out...what happens?

The camera will wait for a while and the video gets focused again?

Totally agreed that tripod is a must. I find that for 50mm above, tripod is the key.

Very easy just switch to Live view, next turn the apperture ring to your liking, then turn the focusing ring to focus. You will know when you have focus. Then set the exposure compensation, lock the exposure lock. And then you can start to record. Remember to double press on the info button, you will be able to assign AE-L/AF-L button to AE lock (hold). This will help you lock the exposure, the cam will not auto adjust during recording.

I think the 135mm f2.8 would be really great for concert or performance, the focus length seem just nice for a range of 15 to 20m.

No, totally don't have. Practice MF on the lens lor. :) At least you can achieve those special soft-focus or focus-pull effects instead of an AF-only system like what you see on those PnS cameras...

sorry, how to lock the exposure? just switch the AE-L lever?

Eh yeah it's the button, but if I remembered correctly the button is configured to do both AF-L and AE-L by default. You need to go into the Settings menu (f4 function) to change it to AE-L (Hold) function instead.

This is a short cut I learn from Ken rockwell. You can assign the AF-L/AE-L button in 10 second without fuss.

Simply press "info" button twice. It is on the back panel, bottom right of the LCD screen. Use the scroll button to select Assign AF-L/AE-L, then select what you need. For Video, you can select AE-L (hold), this helps to lock the AE-L with one press of the button. You do not need to constantly press the button. You can unlock by press the button again.

Just practice a bit more, I'm able to sort of even achieving "dolly-out/zoom-in effect" while at the same time pulling focus on the subject and I'm doing it entirely handheld with the 18-200 with the VR on. Not perfect but it's do-able.

one word... Amazing !

very nice bokeh and getting subjects out of focus before coming into focus...

Bro,

I will be eagerly waiting for your Zhuhai video clips! :bsmilie:
