Nikon D800 Body

Welcome to Clubsanp. :)

Thank you, trd2970!
Gonna stay away from Sim Lim! :D
actually, there are two stores which our members usually patrolize at Sim Lim Square, however, your dad may not able to get all he wants over there, so it is better to shop at those stores which our members already mention.

May I know why do you think it would be better to get DK-19 eyepiece and/or DK-14 or DK-17 from Nikon Service Center?
Thank you :)
Stocks usually available at Nikon Service Center, however, you can get it at Cathy and TK foto too, just make sure you call to check stocks before head down to the stores, and no harm making reservation over the phone.

hope this help.

Remember to keep the receipts so your dad can get the 7% Gst rebate for all the items purchased in Singapore before flying back.

TS's father should say upfront in the store that he's a tourist and want to have the GST refund, so that the store will prepare the necessary papers/receipt to show in the custom before he fly out.. If I remember correctly they will also check the things he bought before they give the refund..

Only shops that participate in the Tax Refund scheme will be able to do so. I am not sure if Cathay or other shops are registered in the scheme. Need to call and check.

TK is registered.

Thank you very much for your advice, SojlrOu!

My dad actually did mention Sandisk Extreme Pro and Lexar Professional 1000x. I was wondering if the price range for these CF cards is a lot higher compared to SILICON POWER Compact Flash (CF) 64Gb 600X Professional or Kingston Ultimate 266X?

Thanks! :)

Unfortunately they are quite a bit more expensive at about double the price of the Silicon Power card for the same capacity ($400 for 64gb or $200 for 32gb). Also, I would recommend against the Silicon Power brand based on it's reputation. The Kingston would be a little too slow for the D800 unless he is shooting in JPEG.

Alternatively, your dad could get an Extreme Pro SD card for about $80 for 32gb and $180 for 64gb since the D800 has both types of slots. The only catch is that the SD card would be about 80% as fast as the Extreme Pro CF.
