Not I like to measure lah.....just that this thread is about the diff of 2 cams, not the person.....:mad2:

For example, if I tell you I am going to give you either a D50 and D2Xs, which will you choose? Which one will help you more in taking good picture under all kind of circumstances? So, this is the difference of the camera alone I am talking about loh. I know D50 is a good cam, but D2Xs must have better performance to be in the better class loh......

Disclaimer: I am not saying I am good, definitely I am a newbie who cant get "wow" pic even with the best of camera system in the world. So, any cam to me is a challenge to learn all its function.:)

:bsmilie: no need to defend your stand
if given the choice of either D50 or D2Xs, i would choose the D2Xs and sell it
then buy a D80 for the better noise control and a Sigma 120-300 f2.8 + TC

See, you also go for a better equipment that you think will help you better mah....;)

i personally feel that the D80 is a much better DSLR over 400D, mainly for its build quality, ease of use and myriad of features that would appeal to amateurs and professionals alike.

But the price is also higher mah.....20% higher (based on RRP).

That might just justify the price due to the hard work those deisgners did for it.

I think the judges seems to know what they're talking about from the reviews and I think their comments are valid. Still the points are very close and I agree with the remarks.

Summary of Verdict - where Canon fell behind.
Round 1: Design - 400D is too light. 'Serious lenses' will put it out of balance.
Round 2: Features - 400D lacks a spot meter.
Round 3: Accessories - D80 has CLS commander.
Round 4: Performance - D80 is overall faster but 400D has a faster flash recycle time.
Round 5: Photo Quality - They tie.
To me, Round 5 is the most important factor ...

And they are the same :).

For me, what your own feel when you hold the camera and use it is more important.

Review is only a guideline to highlight advantages and disadvantages, and comparison with others. If you buy camera or system because a review, you will always changing your camera or system. When you want to shoot?

Yah, the man matters, but if the same man with better equipment will have better performance mah, right? I mean there will be less limitation constraining the man shooting what he wants to, for example faster response of the cam, more AF points...

So this thread is for equipment comparison loh...adding "man in the loop" will complicate the comparison issue...

ya lor. Why EVERY equipment comparison thread always have comments like "it is the photographer that matters", "what is behind the lens is the most impt", etc ,etc.

Common we ALL KNOW that the most impt thing is the photographer, no need to keep repeating it.

Sometimes newbie (really newbie) come to this forum, and that's why repeating is necessary.
